What difference would online or offline make if the new keys are in the firmware itself that requires to run the gm

not sure of the technical detaisls just what i saw posted here somewhere, maybe it can only path out the keys for cart baed games through the patched emunand ofw , and not for online games, not sure why exactly , they dont have keys for 5.x games for carts either but they still run

For all we know a later firmware exploit might never be found/not exist. Look at the PS3. Sony closed that up tight in later updates and the only way to downgrade is a hardware mod (not even sure if that's possible anymore, either).

a flasher downgrade for ps3 is not possible for higher than 2k models because sony changed the syscon to not allow it
but you can always get a ODE for any model
