I search everywhere online for Smile BASIC and I can't find it! I really want to be able to use it for game coding! (Also, I heard there is a way to hack the system with it?) So could someone tell me where I would be able to get the thing?!?

the game was pulled from view on the eshop, but it is still on Nintendo CDN server, people who have downloaded it before, or other ways, can still get it.

UGH I was really hoping to play this... but shouldn't SOMEONE be selling it?
I'm sure ninty will patch the exploit and re-release it on the eshop. That's what they usually do. So if you can remain a little patient, your game coding quench shall be met.

It will be back soon! With the exploit patched of course though. Glad to see others are also learning Smilebasic! :D

If someone wants to code games, there's PCs for that, with ample resources. And a PHYSICAL keyboard to type with.

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
@Xdqwerty you can use a "spawner" function on any object.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Or when your player dies, you can say in code, if enemy exists, do nothing, but if enemy does not exist, then create enemy at certain spot. (This would be a pain tho for lots of emeies)

Easiest, simple way would be just restart scene, but player would restart from beginning.
