Mans talking about his dongle as a "masterpiece". Made me laugh
you have proved you have no idea what your talking about and how you look now.
the SX dongle is a master piece, the others poor brick size imitations.
In an effort to bring things back on topic, I would just argue that SX OS isn't worth $30, particularly when it doesn't support 7.0.x.yes it is, I've got a R4s and I've seen the other brick size ones. the SX dongle was the first mass produced one and still the best after 8 months.
how is it significantly more expensive ? . it cost me 15$ for the R4s, and say $50 for the Sx pro , take $30 for the SX license, 5$ for the excellent jig, that leaves $15 for the Sx dongle. same price and a lot better.
and waste your money you did~ you can literally get a jig for $3 and you dont even need one of those shitty dongles that only hold a charge for like five seconds! could have spent that $50 on a cheap android phone and actually had something more useful than TX garbage

that's not a super great reason either.. especially if you play in portable mode the majority of the time

hmm working android phone even if its cheap or useless sxos dongle? i think i know who made the better life choices here<3
But you have to carry a useless dongle around, yep really making your case here xDyes me, i don't need to install s/w on my mobile and run a program, carry a usb cable, just insert dongle , automatically sends payload.
i don't have a shitty one, i've got the Sx one
what $50 8 months ago, thats that 20cent a day
yes it only takes 5 sseconds to charge, your right about that but can hold a charge for many injections.
sorry i would be too embarrassed to be seen with a cheap android phone
You got what you paid for at the time and that's that, no need to force a justification down everyones throat as to why your purchase is still justified.
i think you will find its always the other way around, its the haters that start posting their hate. most of the time they are first to post their hate in the very first post of a SX thread.
then they start posting their lies that a free CFW is better or has more features than SX. which is a lie.
I had a GW card from the start to, from what i remember it was a while before free CFW was released. my kids still use their GW card in the 3ds now. no doubt I'll get GW haters telling me that i wasted money there to after many years of use

I don't think anybody is arguing that SX OS was a waste of money or that Gateway was a waste of money. I think the point a lot of people are trying to make is that these things are largely a waste of money now. That's why the majority of SX OS users bought it before free alternatives like Atmosphere and ReiNX were available.i think you will find its always the other way around, its the haters that start posting their hate. most of the time they are first to post their hate in the very first post of a SX thread.

Atmosphere does, in fact, have features that SX OS doesn't have. SX OS can mount XCIs and use USB storage. Atmosphere can self-inject payloads upon crash, power off fully rather than powering off to RCM mode, boot 7.x firmware and do a handful of other things.
If your kids are using Gateway still, you're doing things wrong. Come on now. Gateway is in every meaningful way inferior to running real CFW, and really just a nightmare at this point. You can't even play games online anymore if you are still on Gateway...
sorry but the kids have been using GW card since it come out, I've had no reason to change as all the games worked fine. yes i know the last few that were released might not work, but that's when it was the end of the line for the 3ds and my kids moved onto a switch. but i think 99% of all games still worked on the last release of GW firmware.
Anyone still using gateway for their 3ds at this point is just computer illiterate..Reasons to change it:
Being able to install modern games without relying on random dudes on warez sites to repack them so that Gateway will take them
Being able to play online
Being able to run current firmware
Not having to boot with a DRM dongle
Did I mention that online play works?
Games haven't worked for a long, long time without being repacked for Gateway. Around the time A9LH became a thing, if memory serves. When A9LH dropped, there was really no excuse to stay on Gateway. The only nicety left was being able to mount a cartridge from microSD, but the trade off in having to play a risky game with certificate injection in order to play online made it not worth it. Now Gateway is completely dead and has been for much longer than the Switch has been out. And Nintendo added that thing where you have to be on up-to-date firmware in order to play online, and it's been a rather long time since Gateway has been up to date.
