A poll should be added IMO. I used to use avast then re-did my pc then i switched to AVG then pc began to act weird and re-did it again and now i use eset nod32. Anti-viruses never seem to caused me any problems. I would rate them all the same.

Avast!

It does an amazing job from my experience. It'll even block Trojans from your connection if Avast catches you downloading or even opening a page with a Trojan in it. Plus, if you leave your PC on all night, tell it to scan starting at around 11pm and go continuously until it's finished, every night, and you'll be all set!

If you've never received a virus, how do you know it's working? That's one of the bigger flaws of AVG.

I mean it detects them if I download something dirty of course, but I never got a virus that got through my NOD32.

Avast is perfectly fine...... It also has boot scan and recently, Sandbox feature has been added to it. NOD 32 is an awesome antivirus if you buy it!!! Trust me, NOD32 kicks everyones a$$

I've used avast free for 2 years now, and so far no problems, no viruses

Of course, not clicking on suspicious links and being cautious surfing-wise is also contributory to that.
