The biggest game I'm hyped for this year is Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown. That god damn game better live up to the first two titles because it's still pretty much the only racing game series with a giant 1:1 recreation of a world map and fast cars to drive there.

Also I guess Metroid Prime 4 and Starfield, but both of those have pretty decent alternatives so I'm not quite as starved for those as I am for the next TDU installment.

Absolutely Zelda, I am a huge fan

I am one of those people who counts their life in increments of how many more Zelda games I will get to play before I die

Sadly it's only 10 or 11, but better than the half life fans (0)

Lol at first glance I thought everybody was trolling and 48% had voted for Suicide Squad. Anyway, Resident Evil 4, Baldur's Gate 3, and TOTK are practically guaranteed to be GOTY nominees, FF16, Armored Core 6, and STALKER 2 all have a ton of potential to be great. Street Fighter 6 might well succeed in bringing a level of passion back to the FGC that we haven't seen since the SF2/3 days.

If I had to guess what the biggest disappointments will be, probably Starfield and Diablo 4. Suicide Squad we know will be garbage just based on what we've seen of it already.

Of course the borefest is leading with a massive margin; people just can't get enough of a bland, ugly, generic open-world with a Legend of Zelda skin and multiple player-hostile mechanics, it seems...sigh.

As for me? Spider-Man 2, Pikmin 4, Xenoblade 3's last DLC, Ghost Trick on Switch, and Professor Layton and the New World of Steam.

It's okay to not be a Zelda fan. Sure, the game had it's problems, but Nintendo usually take and fixes most of the big complaints in their sequels with QoL fixes.

It was tough to choose just one but I went with Spider-Man 2.. SF6 was a very close second.

I'm also thrilled that one of my favourite franchises of all time is making a return this year.. Robocop! The game will probably be meh but it's freaking Robocop!

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
