Capcom has a really promising and exciting lineup prepared for 2023. As mentioned in a previous article, Capcom has a livestream scheduled for today, March 9th, with around 26 minutes in length, to showcase their latest news regarding some of those upcoming titles, from the Resident Evil 4 Remake, to Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection and many others. Given how the previous Resident Evil 4 3rd trailer promised a demo to be coming soon, fans are eagerly awaiting for the Spotlight stream to hopefully have the demo released while the event goes live.

What else do you expect from the event? The Spotlight is but an hour away from being aired, so let's cover the news as Capcom unveils them.

(Due to the age restriction set in the video, users that aren't logged into YouTube aren't able to access it, and embedding the video will prompt with that message.

The livestream has begun! Let's see what Capcom will showcase in it:
  • Some slight talk about Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, Exoprimal and Resident Evil 4. Just random talk, nothing showing up just yet other than people talking and discussing those games, with some already-seen random imagery and trailers here and there. This seems to be the preparation for the main event, which begins in 10 mins. Let's just skip this, shall we.

  • And we finally start! The spotlight begins with the first game, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection. Some words by the director, Egushi, with a new video, in which the collection will be featuring all 499 patch cards which were only available in Japan, usable from Battle Network 4 and onwards.
  • Some custom PET packs will be featured as well.
  • Users will be able to trade chips and so online, as well as battle online too.

  • Street Fighter 6 is next.
  • A new commentator is showcased, voice actress Hikaru Takahashi, not much to see other than gameplay with random quotes from the commentator.
  • Available June 2, 2023.
  • Capcom Pro Tour will feature Street Fighter 6, with the first place winning 1 million dollars!

  • Capcom is celebrating its 40th anniversary on June.
  • A digital theme park will open up, called Capcom Town, showcasing some of Capcom's history on June 12th.
  • A new Capcom ID account can be used alongside other of Capcom's services for games like RE:Verse and others.

  • Exoprimal is next.
  • A new trailer is showcased. Some story focused scenes are shown, as well as some gameplay tidbits and exo suits.
  • An open beta will begin from March 17 to March 19.
  • Some more detailed information about the open beta.

  • Ghost Trick is coming up.
  • Available on June 30th, for Switch, PS4, Xbox One and Steam.
  • The game seems to be focusing on detective like gameplay, with the plot being that the murdered people can reawaken but with no memory.
  • Same music composer from the Ace Attorney series will return for this title.

  • Monster Hunter: Rise is now available for several consoles.
  • A trailer is shown for Monster Hunter: Rise Sunbreak, a expansion to Rise, showcasing some of the locales, monsters, new actions and updates.
  • Sunbreak is coming on April 28th, with some pre-order bonuses available.
  • A new digital event will come up with more information later in the year.

  • Resident Evil is coming up.
  • We get a preview for the previously seen Resident Evil: Death Island CGI movie. Coming on Summer 2023.
  • A new preview of Jill and Leon together is shown. Will be the first time we see both of these characters together in the RE franchise.
  • Resident Evil 4 is next, with some words by Hirabarashi.
  • A special announcement for RE4 is coming up...
A demo is now available! Titled Chainsaw Demo, with no time limit and can be played as many times as wanted. The demo is available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series S/X and Steam.
  • Details on the pre-order bonuses for RE4.

  • Capcom Publisher Sale is now live, with some RE titles and Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak available on the sale.

  • And that seems to be a wrap!

Using a third-party client to view it without signing in. 😏

Booooriiing.
How are you watching it without signing in?
Are you using an Add-on of sorts?
And yeah, what a random and boring way to start the stream tbh. At least this seems to be just pre-show stuff, it will begin in a bit.

There's plenty of YouTube forwarders. NewPipe is an example that bypasses age restriction for most videos.
Well, we're getting into the meat of the stream, now. Trailers and stuff. Still the chat, though, which... still is boring.

Capcom doesn't really seem to know how to put one of these together properly, or at least time them right. They had nothing hype to reveal except an RE4 demo. I forgot Exoprimal was even a thing, and that's probably for the best considering it's a full-priced game which is monetized like it's F2P.

Such a lackluster presentation... Tell me something that I don't already know, Capcom 🙄🤷🏽‍♂.

Indeed, all of the things featured were mostly known, and the only actual news they brought up was the release of the RE4 Demo.

It felt lackluster to say the least, and that beginning with the chatting just added to the boredom. They really need to keep people's interest with more enticing and exciting ways to showcase their stuff instead of rehashing what was already known for like the 3rd time.
