Hacking Discussion What is the point of Lan Play Support on SX OS?

Okay, so Team Xecuter released a new beta, the biggest thing about it is the Lan Play support.... BUT.

What does that TOGGLE do? Besides saying enabled and disabled... so far i've tried just to run the SX OS with that Lan Play enabled and connect to my Wifi like normally (Automatic IP and DNS) and also run the lan play exe on my PC, So far so good... the problem is, it doesn't seem to do anything, it doesn't connect to anything I am not able to see any rooms in MK8 or other games....

So my question is, what is this option exactly? Is there any documentation on this ?? Before their official "support" for lan play I was able to add my settings to my Switch and run my client on my PC and profit.... if it did work before like that, why do we have "official support" now? If I still have todo EVERYTHING I was doing before to play LAN PLAY? Why do we have a toggle now that doesn't seem to do ANYTHING!

Is about time this people implement some kind of .kip system... I mean this addition is useless since it doesn't work, or I am doing something wrong with it!

Because this is just how it works currently on all Firmwares? Even using the appropriate .kip files in Atmosphere, ReiNX this is just how it works. Without that toggle it wouldn't work at all. What this is, is LAN play for games that don't have LAN play only wifi direct... Like Smash for example does not have a LAN mode only local wifi.

LAN - local area network

It spoofs an online game through your router so more than one Switch can be used to locally play but acts as an online multiplayer game.

Because this is just how it works currently on all Firmwares? Even using the appropriate .kip files in Atmosphere, ReiNX this is just how it works. Without that toggle it wouldn't work at all. WRONG, without the toggle IT DID WORK before, that's how I tested this before.

Unless this is specifically for games like Smash Bros that only has Wireless Play and not Local Play.

No you are wrong. Games with LAN mode worked without it. NOT games like Smash that do not have LAN mode. It only has local wifi mode and WILL NOT FUCKING work without either a .kip file for other CFW or THIS version of SXOS. Don't argue. You are wrong.

Ok. Then still useless xD instead of .kip system they embedded the ldn_mitm.kip inside their boot.dat

You know what I mean, something like Stealth Mode, they have it and you only have to turn it on to function as intended... imagine having a toggle for Stealth mode and still have to manually input the DNS yourself... that is what I mean.

Lol well it's not like they developed this new feature, like you said they just baked that kip into their CFW. Maybe the scene will progress in the future where it's all done for you by a .nro or .nsp

Then Xecuter can steal that. I still think it's a nice thing for SX users that don't want to use Atmosphere or ReiNX. It's more features than they had yesterday.... Oh and also this new verison of SXOS will softlock your console if you try to launch either of the Pokemon let's go. Games .Expect a update soon lol

Yeah... This will become a buggy mess in the future. The kip gets updated often and SX OS users will have to wait for either proper kip support or a new version of SX OS to get a updated kip.
