the whole websense protection (or whatever it is) is getting quite annoying to deal with right now

its so sensitive to even Google about ways to bypass it

so the question here is: does anyone know any current methods that work ?

Found this here
1

Go to the Windows Desktop, click on the "Start" button and select "Search."
2

Find the setup.exe file that is associated with Websense Enterprise.
3

Start the Websense program and select "Remove some components."
4

Select "Remove" to uninstall all Websense components.
5

Follow the onscreen instructions, remove all Websense Reporting components, and you are finished. You have successfully removed Websense Enterprise.

On my school network anyway live cds can be booted but connecting to the school network is impossible (well, it's more effort than it's worth

Your best bet is to keep up with the latest proxies, websense tend to block proxies within 12 hours of them coming online so it's good to check at home as late as possible, that's what I do anyway.

also, Websense blocks GBAtemp

Oh, OK.. I thought he was at home, I had a laptop that came with the stupid program, from a grant government thingymajig. twas a pain to get rid of, I just reinstalled windows.

I dont think its installed as a program. I think its setup in their firewall. Only way around it is use a proxy such as Tor use a portable edition.

i should have been more specific

im at a university - logging into a websensed internet cnxn

so far ive been using ultrasurf, that works once and then it stops (is in it opens the website that is websensed and then it stops working)

also, been looking for some VPN that can enable P2P that is also websensed

does anyone know any

i gave hotspot sheild a try but it seems its stopped supporting P2P ? - other things such as IRC though now work so that's a sign that the VPN is actually doing its job - so must i change something in the torrent client settings as well ?

thanks for the replies anyway.

ive used this before, but the whole intention is to use up with bandwidth limit that im actually paying for in university (im capped at 3GB at home so its out of the question to leech from there)

but it will suffice for now since they are literally blocking everything - most if not all my daily websites they are being filtered as "hacking"

then again the media server at home is lonely and of course nobody uses that so i shouldn't be interfering with anyones business

... god damn websense.
