Hi all,
long time since i posted something of my own :)

I have a launch day switch that i kept on v1 or whatever the launch version fw was until SX OS was released, since them i have only updated the FW once, to 5.1, using ChoiDujourNX to avoid burning the fuses... Since then i have not updated it again, so it is still at 5.1. With Zelda coming tomorrow, i would like to play the game (got the limited edition) and i know it will probably require 8.1 at least.

Now, i never go online, i do not care about online gaming and i never buy digital games at all. On that note, i am not sure if i should go with:

1. Just update with ChoiDujourNX again to 8.1 and keep everything as is
2. Use emunand for OFW and sysnand for CFW
3. Use emunand for the CFW and sysnand for OFW
4. Is there any point in keeping SX OS anymore, with the current state of Atmosphere or another CFW? I have it, i do not mind it, it works, so if there are no benefits i might stick with it...

Not keeping up with the developments due to very limited time, so wanted to gauge suggestions before i move with getting all the files i need etc.
Many thanks and sorry for the noobish questions!

If online gaming isn't an issue, I think Atmosphere will work for you.
I would recommend getting the files from SDSetup so that you also get additional apps like Goldleaf.
SXOS has all those apps build into their interface.
After updating with ChoiDujourNX to 8.1 , I would recommend using the latest version of Atmosphere.
And maybe make a dump of your NAND just in case something goes wrong.

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
