Ok, so what's this do? does it actually remove the newer IOS, or does it just change the verison number?

From everything I hear, FIRMWARE is the wrong term, but hey, I'm not one to say anything because i'm just the backwaters hick here... (For likinworm, and his crew, that was sarcasm...)

And yes, I do admit linkinworm was right, but this isn't a huge deal... anything that can be done in 3.2 has been updated to work in 3.3...

That's it?

Big letdown......
not for people wanting to run say the wii freeloader again or trucha straight from the menu

I guess.... but I was hoping for something I could actually use.
hey, you never know it might be useful for something else in the future(that wasnt a slip up, it was me saying that someone might find another use for it)
sorry it didnt live up to your expectations, but it was everyone else that hyped it up not me. anyway enjoy if you really want to use it.

Firmware = IOS + System Menu + some system tools

The downgrader downgrades IOS, System Menu, etc. so I call it a firmware downgrader.

It seems like it downgrades your IOS so you can still do things that were blocked in the newer IOSs such as running the FriiLoader or other Trucha signed disks straight from the Wii menu (as opposed to using the Gecko Loader thing).

ok, but once again, why is it useful ? if homebrew is fully blocked some day, you won't even be able to run your "downgrader"

Ok, this is a nice thing to have, for now... if I accidentally upgraded to 3.3, and want to run Trucha discs or different region discs without using the GeckoOS channel/app, I could go back to 3.2.

But when Bushing fails with Nintendo, and they block ALL homebrew, and unsigned code, this will be useless...

But it's a good advance in understanding the Wii (I think)

Not saying anything bad about this, just nothing good either.

And I've already admitted that linkinworm was right, even though he's not even mentioned in the readme, lol

CRAP! using the downgrader i tried to install 3.3E from 3.2E (yes i know it's nan upgrade but i figured it should still work) because doing a system update the normal way doesn't seem to work.

Now it has been stuck on "Downloading and Installing content #93" for the last 10 minutes.

I'm really freaked out that the process is frozen and i don't want to turn my Wii off in fear of a brick!

Do i wait or do i power off!????????????!?????????
it's my family's wii at stake!

The software isn't threaded, so if it shows it's still downloading, it hasn't installed anything.

You're perfectly safe to shut it off, just remember to delete any temporary files on your SD card.
