vwii drive connected to top back USB port, with a y cable. WiiU drive plugged into front, with Y cable. So USBloadergx won't show me anything when I have the WiiU drive connected to the front. I have ios58 enabled under the advice of a cyan post, contrary to the guide I followed on wiiu.hacks.guide. Nintendont works with the Wiiu drive attached. but USBLoadersgx won't load anything at all.
I think the solution is to put the vWii drive into the lower back USB port and the WiiU drive into the upper back USB port. But the little y cable port isn't long enough to reach around the front. It's only like 2-3 inches long, so not even long enough for anything, certainly wouldn't reach to a wall powered USB port. So if I buy two usb cable lengtheners and connected them both to the y cables, then ran the lengthener cable to the front USB ports (or to a wall adapter, which would free up the front ports for USB microphones or gamecube adapters), would that fix the problem? Will the drives stay spinning forever if they are connected to wall power via usb charger?
Or is there a better solution, a ustealth for the wiiu drive that will hide the wiiu drive from USBLoadergx? Or should I just use WiiFlow?
My head feels like it's going to explode coming up with an elegant solution to this based on the thousands of posts discussing the same things over the last 10 years.
More info: vwii drive is fat32. And this is a good summary of the problem. I notice the warning that the fix of plugging vwii drive to usb 1 and the wiiu drive to usb 0 doesn't work on vwii, but that was back in 2015.
