Nope, you need another console. A ds phat/lite is preferred because it doesn't have the ability to block flashcarts, but a dsi/3ds is fine as long as your ak2i works on it (meaning that the firmware is low enough).
actually while waiting for a friend to lend me his dslite I decided to try putting my acekard 2i through my action replay dsi (the one where you put your game through the top slot) and I managed to update my acekard through that, if you have an action replay dsi, give it a shot, I can only tell you through my experience it worked for me at least.
