Hacking unofficial firmware

I believe it's somewhere in the stickied FAQ thread. The problem is that the first posts on those sticky threads are seldom updated with new information as they should be. But I have it in a text file that I just cut-and-paste every time someone asks.

I got my DSTT today and I'll throw in another vote for how great YSMenu is. I did have a R4 and to be honest I really liked the simplicity of it's loader so I felt right at home with YSMenu. It looks pretty much the same except it allows you to set rumble, cheats and soft reset on the touch screen.

I love the integrated gba/emulator support as well. To play NES/GBÂ games now (as long as you have a 3-in-1) it's just a simple case of selecting the rom from the menu and YSMenu does the rest. You have to have goomba and pocketnes in the TTMenu folder for that to work.

Yea the intergrated emulator is nice but I like using Lameboy better

Does YSmenu have a soft reset for DS games like L+R+Y+X+B+A? Kids like the YS better cuz of easy access to GBA games but want soft reset keys.

Yep, you have to remember to switch in on on the bottom screen before loading the game (it remembers the setting after that). You can use the R key as well. It's not a global setting either (just remembered), it's got to be set for each game.

thanks TrolleyDave, I have 1 more question I probably should know the answer to but here goes. How do you view sav files from YSMENU? I would like to be able to delete save files for both GBA and NDS games without a computer but the only files that YSMENU seems to show is GBA and NDS files, not the save files.

No probs. To view the save files just hit select. It'll swap between the different settings. To delete it's the X button (you probably already know but just in case).

Hey Bri, can you send me a copy of those .bmp things for the YSMenu? Also, I can't find YSMenu.ini. Any suggestions?
