I've tried replacing files on clean japanese rom, i've replaced overlay folder, arm7.bin, arm9.bin, y7.bin and y9.bin with the same files from usa clean rom and tried on my DSTWO and it worked, the menu and all texts are in english, i'll continue testing it.

but could you play the game?

Yes, i'm playing it right now. I'll try it on my other cards to check if it only works on DSTWO or if it works on other cards too.

OHHHH SHHIITTTTTTTTTTZZZNIT

*Gets the clean ROM for both (U) and (J)*

I will do this process and test this on my AceKard2i with AKAIO 1.6

since AceKard users said the Clean one works on AKAIO 1.6

EDIT: There are few things that still in japanese.
Try replacing the header and banner with the US header and banner.

I think that give the english text to the japanese rom is only the lazy way to undubing this game.
We need to check DATA files, to see with ones are texture files and things like that, because, this game isn't a "full" port, have a lot of files in separate files.

I agree with just porting over the text from the US version.

In reality it's all that needs to be done. The Japanese Voices and Blood are still in the Japanese Version.

We don't need to be replacing every file in the overlay/etc. Just the text based ones.

Are you guys using both (J) and (U) clean roms or the cracked ones? I suppose we need to use the cracked (J) and clean (U) rom. :|

EDIT: Nevermind, seems both clean roms are needed.

Again, can I point out something.

If we replace these files with ones from the USA version, we won't have the boss voiceovers in the Japanese because the information doesn't exist in the USA version.

Correct me if I'm wrong

Tried with the files from the Venom US release into the Clean "J" release... seems to be working.

And Side note... where is the more blood? I see light blood splatters in the opening thing for the English or the Jap. Where is the difference?

Yeah. But if that can't be translated, then it's not completely English (text).

If this helps, I just took a look at these files.

These files differ in size from the (J) Release and the (U) Release on clean dumps in the overlay folder

overlay_0000.bin (US=52 kb, Japan=54 kb
overlay_0001.bin (US=366 kb, Japan=361 kb)
overlay_0002.bin (US=373 kb, Japan=371 kb)
overlay_0003.bin (US=351 kb, Japan=374 kb)
overlay_0004.bin (US=389 kb, Japan=393 kb)

All of the other files in the overlay folder are the same size between versions. Potentially this means that one or more of these files are what control the language. I will test these.)
