What is the model of your card? What kernel do you normally use?
DO you have a R4.dat file on root of your micro sd card?
If so, did you made a copy of ttmenu.dat and renamed it R4.dat?

On root you would have R4.dat (copy of ttmenu.dat just renamed with your actual bootloader's name) + original ttmenu.dat.

I have R4.dat but everytime i renamed my R4.dat to TTmenu.dat and boot my card it gives me a ?menu..

you don't need to rename your r4.dat to TTmenu.dat

Im Using This Method

INFO : This means you would not use your R4 clone kernel at all, you would not copy any files from it on you SD card, all you will use is YSMenu or DSTT wink.gif

- Backup you files.
- Format your micro SD card.
- Copy all files from Retrogamefan's last release on / (root) of you card : /TTMENU/, TTMenu.dat, TTMENU.SYS
- Rename TTMenu.dat to what your R4 clone's kernel uses (iLL.iL, R4.dat, R4i.TP, etc...). Mine uses iLL.iL so I renamed TTMenu.dat with that name.
- Put the micro SD card into your linker, then turn on your DS and say "woaaaaaw" tongue.gif
If it boots fine, then you can copy your games/homebrews on your card and play!

It means, for people using the same R4 clone's kernel than me :
- no more main menu where you got to choose between Games, Media, SLOT2.
- no more R4 clone's kernel updates' to do, just update the YSMenu/DSTT files from Retrogamefan's.

Nota Bene : You can also use an AKAIO or any GUI with the DSTT kernel if you want to, BUT you will always have to use /TTMENU/ files. You cannot autoload another kernel structure, it has to match DSTT's!

I want TTmenu to autoboot on my r4..do you know how??

that's the method i'm currently using... i forgot that the one i renamed is TTMenu.dat.. ;p

are you sure you renamed properly the TTMenu.dat to R4.dat? did you reformated your SD card?
and are you sure you have the latest retrogamefans files? you should have the latest TTMenu folder, TTmenu.dat, TTmenu.sys if you do did you put all of it in the root of your SD card? the TTmenu.dat and TTmenu.sys should be in the root of your SD card not inside the TTmenu folder... and the only files that your SD card should have is the TTmenu Folder, TTmenu.dat(R4.dat after you renamed it), TTmenu.sys and your game(.nds)..

or maybe that method doesn't work for your Cart. try the other methods...

@rikardo03 : I am not gonna put direct links to Retro files as he does not want us to do anything on GBATemp about his work anymore. I've already put link to Bitonio's topic last week, containing original download links to the last YSMenu/TTDS but I guess it has been deleted.
I am not gonna do anything else for that, even not in PM.

About rockerzz182 : Any linkers from www.r4i-sdhc.com, or others with exactly the same structure cannot work atm because we did not search much about map.bin, R4iLoader.dat and R4.dat files.
We got to modify them to natively use YSMenu/DSTT on those linkers (which are DSTT based anyway, just two or three files "encrypted").

So, if rockerzz182 has done the tutorial properly, it is normal it does not work.
xabby666 is trying to work on that part.

Ive Tried Many Times and Its not working..
all i did now on my cart is modify the multimedia path
/moonshell2/moonshel.nds to /moonshell2/TTMenu.nds
So everytime i use the middle icon on r4 instead of booting moonshell it boot TTmenu..

Thanx For The Help Anyway..i hope xabby will succeed on what he is doing..
Im Gonna Volunteer to test everything on what he is doing for the cart..

Download the last YSMenu/TTMenu release and backup your SD card files

Copy extinfo.dat in /R4iMenu/.
Open an Hexadecimal Editor.

Edit extinfo.dat and find ant of this part :

Save this file, and then rename it map.bin, if it asks you to replace a file say yes.

Copy savlib.dat in /R4iMenu/, if it asks you to replace a file say yes.
Copy infolib.dat in /R4iMenu/ and then rename it GAMEINFO.dat, if it asks you to replace a file say yes.
Copy ttpatch.dat in /R4iMenu/ and then rename it R4iLoader.dat, if it asks you to replace a file say yes.

Try to boot a new game like super scribblenauts.
It it does boot you are good to use your native kernel updated with YSMenu/TTMenu files

Please try all the modified string and tell us precisly with one work, and what's your card name/logo/website (PRECISE EVERYTHING).

faarys I am working on it actually there are differents between R4i SDHC kernel versions as well, seems they encrypt files everytime they edit them then...
