added "How to improve the connection of the contacts" under the tips & tricks section

Feel free to make a better picture if you can, my paint skills only help so much

DSTWO%20how%20to%20insert%20sd%20card.jpg

now to continue on my set up section

Edit: finished with the meat of the set up section, removed the "How to easily set up your microsd card from scratch" spoiler under tips & tricks

and now it's completely finished, i think the whole beginner's guide as a whole is lookin' pretty fly right now *waits for sticky*

This is an amazing guide. I've been looking to get a flashcard for my 3DS (I've been using an R4 for my Lite for four years) and I'm leaning towards this since CannonFoddr showed that the battery drain difference vs. the Acekard is negligible on the 3DS.

There's something that's a bit confusing though. You talked about "renaming DS_GAME"-- does that mean I can change the DS game the flashcart pretends to be in the 3DS Home Menu, and I can theoretically do it whenever I connect the Supercard's microSD card to the PC?

Sorry if this seems inane. The fact that it's nearly 5AM over here and I haven't gotten any sleep could have something to do with it. Thanks again!

DS_GAME is not the fake game.
in the plugin menu you can boot to the EOS, the system that launches ROMs.
by default its text is DS_GAME, but as described, you can change it.

the fake game can only be changed in firmware updates, and those are only made by the supercard team. they are needed to bypass nintendo's firmware updates for handhelds

added the how to use free cheat guide by elixirdream to the links section

added the question "What is Free Cheat and how do I use it?" under Firmware Questions

Edit: added step 7 about getting ROMs and putting them on the DSTwo

added Rydian's SNES Cheats Pack under links

added the question "How do I use cheats with these emulators?" under the SNES/GBA Emulation spoiler

merged the free cheat question under firmware questions with the one under real time menu

added "with the stylus" on the hotkey question under firmware

expanded the cheats question to ask how to activate/deactivate the cheats

moved the hotkey questions above the cheats question

renamed the normal hotkey to "full hotkey" as indicated in the firmware

changed hotkey to the plural form in questions talking about both simple and full

a few minor edits

reworded the answer to the NDSGBA compatibility question under the SNES/GBA emulation spoiler (made it clearer)

plugged in Rydian's DS "hacking" FAQ at the beginning

listed a few more extensions that the iPlayer supports, source is in the credits

updated the so why would i use iPlayer instead of moonshell question to include a bit about the resolution, and the recommended resolution

reworded the video optimization question

removed the bit about renaming the NDSSFC folder when using the dstwo skin installer under Firmware Questions because the newest version of the installer recognizes CATSFC/BAGSFC

rewrote the introduction, explaining what all of the real time menu features do and explaining why the dstwo can do things other flashcarts can't, changed the "innovation" of the supercard team to "support", took down the hype level a notch to try and remove bias

added How do I use my saves files (***.sav) that I already have with these emulators? under the snes/gba emulation spoiler

updated the firmware updating spoiler to account for firmware 1.12, which works on version 2.0.0 of 3DS firmware

renamed it to version 2.0.0-2, which is the full version name

added the question What is the difference between the Kernel/OS (EOS) and the Firmware? under no spoiler because it is such a common question

added "How to Upgrade DSTWO on a v2.0.0-2 3DS" spoiler under tips & tricks

updated for v2.1.0-3, no additional blocking, just some rewording

added options details for Panasonic's formatter in the setup guide

Adding 7-zip as an option for the Archive tool would be worthwhile, it'll unpack all the archive types likely to be encountered and supporting free open source software is always good. Plus no nag screens is a bonus.

i prefer winrar simply because 7zip can't make .rar archives, however i've added it

updated EOS to 1.11 (6-30-11), and updated the question asking if the DSTwo will work on my DSi with the latest firmware under general questions

because its easier this way. I didn't even know till today that you could look at videos with moonshell, until you told me. I had only used moonshell just to play nes games.

A lot of the words in those long instructions are and were foreign to me.

I need to understand this in basic english, so if i screw up, i get a follow up. I have screwed up with every installation until i got it right. When you know your thing, it takes a minute to do one thing, for me, its been half a day just to figure out one thing right, thats how long it took me to put the skin on the ds for example.

So basically, if I want to have Dstwo on my 1.4.1E Dsi, all I have to do is download the latest Eos and patch onto my Micro SD card?
I don't have to use a Ds or a Ds lite?
Sorry just making sure because I got a r4 a while ago and when I updated my Dsi it stopped working
