In all honesty I would consider having an arm essentially burned off to be different from being cut off. So the guy wouldn't have any issue with that.

one thing is chop off an arm because a trauma what chop off any other organ for a delusion. at hospital recently come a guy demanding his spleen removed because he read on the net what that will make him bullet proof... so

Easy fix just add in a clause to his papers that says post op trial required to ensure successful bullet proofing.
