xbox 360 was prolly their last best sucess that was back in 2005 it was released.

since then its been really quite.

just check their forums and promises around the xbox one......
Yes, but toward the end they made a new midchip for newer Xbox 360 drives, pretty sure it wasn't released, but I'm not sure.

seems to me team excuter are stalling or have nothing to show.

its been nearly 2 months since their announcment with no updates, progress or PCB screenshots (which is what we used to see in the old days)

Seems to me they thought they could buy the hack or get it leaked then make a PCB out of it, this hasnt happened.

Their forum thread for it is now dead....and you cant seem to register as a new member on their forums.

lies?

As we receive tons of email asking us for more info and release date, here is a quick update on our product status.

After a few days delay due to Chinese New Year, we have finally received our prototype boards, as can be expected from any development cycle, we have experienced a few issues with reliability of our entry point, we will work on refining our method and keep you posted, stay tuned for more exciting news and videos in the coming weeks.

We are sorry for the delay, but we are also sure all Switch owners will be delighted by our product. It is worth the wait!

It's a risk of other teams copying it and beating them to the punch. I'm however kind of surprised they got issues with their entrypoint, seems flawless for the software people.

They could be telling the truth. I've been put up with those kind of carp at work, as the factory got things wrong or the final mass production boards are not as reliable as the hand made prototype. And cheap production usually took longer, you want them sooner you pay more, which most people won't do. They also have to hide what they actually did with that so others won't be cloning it easily, which will make it even more unstable.

But again, they could have been BSing us. (But I really doubt it, they won't make money w/o the goods, and Switch is way bigger than 360 was.)

360 sales "Worldwide 84 million"!

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Hardware exploits are only patched with a hardware revision, so if an easy-to-install mod chip came out that can stealth itself to the system's security, and a soft-mod releases, I'm gonna go with the mod chip.
only to find out it wasn't as stealth to begin with after a few months? sorry, softmod it is for me.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

If it work on any Switch hardware it won't ever become obsolete, softmod are always patched by Nintendo.
a boot level exploit cannot be patched. see a9h.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
