I am willing to bet that TX was a lot closer to releasing their product until other groups and such announced that they also had a boot time exploit but it did not require hardware mods, so that got TX back tracking and going back to the drawing board. The other groups are not going to release their boot time exploits likely until after TX releases their modchip. So it is kinda of a stand off at this point.
However... This kind of "stand off" is stupid, and not a single damn person benefits from this stupidity...except for Nintendo themselves.
What happened to the "good ol' days", when the
first hacker or group to release something got the glory? Even if the hack was full of bugs and broke things, they were still praised, and people or other groups would build upon that tech to improve it for
everyone! Now, they all want to be the center of attention,
permanently, not share anything, and flaunt/tease things that will never be released.
EDIT (re-reading after a day of thought): I think I may have been a bit over-inclusive, when I said "
they all". This is not entirely true. And for those teams/devs that do not hold back and assist, help, share, etc., I recant my original statement. However, I will still stand behind the majority of the aforementioned observations, as it sure seems that many are following this pattern.
