Was just about to say this. Yeah, there is a game update which updates the game to 1.01 and adds the features mentioned above. I'd think it would work, but atm I can only speculate as my game does not have that update. Also, for the record guys, we still a savefile at or close to floor 100 with all people alive. This is something I need to check the emails in the game, since you basically get new mails from all the people in the game whenever you enter a new floor. It does not neccesarily matter if a few people have died and while we would rather want a savefile with as many mails as possible, as long as the savefile is from floor 100, We can always get the mails ourselves.

I don't know if it'll be of any use to you, but here's my save file.
I have some knowledge in Japanese so if you guys need any help, I'll try my best to assist.
(My first post here too!)

Thanks for the savefile. I'm sorry to say this, but i'm afraid it won't help. You're already on new game+, so no mails unfortunately.

Yeah, I know, sorry. I was hoping you could somehow find a way to retrieve them.
I normally make duplicate saves when starting a New Game+. I'll have a look in my other memory cards for an older save. Sorry, mate.

Are more mails unlocked in NG+? That's all I can think of if the save I linked a while ago didn't have them all, since it was stat hacked to max so no one COULD die.

It's also possible that some of them aren't actually used in-game. Couldn't you translate them regardless anyway? If you know the dimensions of the box they're going to display in, you should know the character count per line, lines per page and etc.

They're all translated, but we need to see them on the PSP in order to put the line breaks in the right place, otherwise we get messages running off the edge of the screen.

Couldn't have explained this better myself:P And as for the new game+, the mails from previous playthroughs don't carry over, so you start from scratch. Your savefile wasn't anywhere close to floor 100 if I remember correctly, which is actually the most important thing for the time being. Also, personally it would be easier for me to edit the emails when I can see them directly in the game, however you have a point; I don't know the character count per line, but Omarrio or StorMyu probably do. Think I'll ask them about this.

Whats the progress of the patch?
Not much further than it was last time we updated. I'm the only translator who, previously, has had much time to work on things, and at the moment I'm taking a calculus class that's kicking my ass. In about a month I'll be finished with it, and have three weeks with no classes at all in which I plan to do as much as possible.

It is not possible to translate your physical copy because your physical copy is read only memory. The legal way to play the game is to rip your physical copy into an ISO, then patch that ISO, both of which are also pretty easy. But, as you say, it's your choice, but if you don't feel like doing that, you will not be able to play the translated version of the game.

Just want to say this isnt true as the tmo patch for monster hunter 3rd uses a plugin for the patch which works for the umd.

Even if it was possible with such a plugin i doubt they will make this a plugin, it will most likely be a patch like 95% of the fan translations, so the post you quoted is pretty much valid.

Well, StorMyu has talked about doing that, and it's a definite possibility. However, making a plugin is more work for us, and would take a while, so if we do that probably will come after we put out the traditional kind of patch that doesn't really need fixing.

i agree, plug-in rout can be quite cumbersome and i would never ask to go out of there way to do that, but its nice that they have multiple ways to do it and I've had "hick-ups" in game with some plug-ins patches. All i say is "I leave its fate in your hands" because they know what there able to do.^_^ (sorry for the run-on sentences)
