I have a hackable switch. It was a Christmas present. I think it started out on firmware 4.1.
I NEVER intended to update it but one of our young family members plays it when I'm at work.
It got updated a time or 2. The last time she updated it brought it up to 6.2. Since then I no longer allow anyone access to the switch but me.
I've decided not to go online with it anymore and I deleted the wifi information. I want to hack it eventually. As a consolation prize for everyone else in my household, I've decided to buy them a new Nintendo switch. The thing they are disappointed with is all of their game save information is on the old switch.
My new switch will probably be ipatched. And will probably be on firmware 7.0.
I will not be updating my old hackable switch. It will stay at 6.2.
How do I transfer the game saves from my old hackable 6.2 switch to a new ipatched 7.0 switch?

Not possible yet.

Is anyone here already have a prompt when launching a nsp that say the console is unable to connect to internet ? Just had that. Any way to fix it ?

Nevermind, I answered my own questions by reading the ChoiDujourNX thread, thanks rajkosto!

Not familiar with that error. When installing .NSP files, ensure that the name contains no special characters and isn't too long by naming it something simple, make sure you have at least double space wherever you are installing it, try installing on the latest firmware, and try installing it with ReiNX since it has the most patches out of all free CFW.

EDIT: Nevermind, this error happens when you try to normally install a .NSP file with Tinfoil or an outdated version of Goldleaf on 7.X. Either use USB install or use the latest nightly version of Goldleaf. Normal .NSP installation is broken with Tinfoil and older versions of Goldleaf.

Oh I see. Thank you so much your a gold to this forum

Hello everyone,

I'm a new registered member here, but I've been reading comments for several months.
I recently became the owner of a Nintendo Switch console, it has 6.2.0 firmware (it was pre-owned) and XAJ7001xxxxxxx serial number so it isn't patched. (of course there are numbers in place of x's)
I wanted to delete the previous user datas and account, so I tried to do the "Restore Factory Settings". But this is only possible if I first update the firmware version. I don't want to upgrade to 7.x.
Then I tried to delete only the user with "Delete User". Unfortunately, the firmware should have been updated in this case too.

I've done a little research to find out which method (CFW) could I like and ReinX is what's likeable for me. On the homepage it is written the Release v2.1 "Full Support for Switch Firmware 7.0.0 and 7.0.1" but "It's still recommended to stay on firmware 6.2 however." This is why I am afraid to update the firmware.

Could you please help me and recommend what should I do? I would like to delete the previous user from the Switch (or make the "Restore Factory Settings") and create my own account and I would like to use ReinX as well. Is this possible without upgrading? What are the pros and cons to stay at 6.2.0 or upgrade to 7.x?

Thank you very much in advance.

Heyah !

So i'm really a noob about Switch stuff (was more focused by the 3DS scene) so i'm here with a quite basic question, but i'd like to be sure before doing anything :

I do have 2 Switches. One is a day one Switch (7.0.2 i hate the fail click update because of Let's Go), and one a Pokemon edition. I don't plan to use the Pokemon one for a realy play. (brand new, opened it to just check it and done, so maybe i should say i've one switch only) So my only solution is to hack my day one Switch.

I've my Nintendo account on it, can I remove it from my day one switch, put it on my Pokemon switch after that and being "safe" ? I don't plan to use wi-fi anymore on my day one switch ofc.

Can we hope of some way to get updates / free games like Pokemon Quest on CFW'd Switch ? It's my main issue, because well, I'll loose access to this if I do it on my day one switch.

Last question : A way to get "ride" of the CFW part and stuff on the switch to be able to use wi-fi stuff again ? Because maybe i'll get a new switch for that in like 6 months, and that way i'll reput my account on it etc etc same as before.

Thanks o/

Which firmware is your switch? You installed update or DLC for BOTW? If so than try to install the update or DLC with the "ignore firmware requirement" option (GoldLeaf).

i updated to the latest atmosphere. Now when i try to start any of my games it says "
Could not start software. Please try again from the HOME Menu".
"
any ideas?

I figured out the solution. If I start my console with power button + volume buttons it will load the recovery mode and there I have the opportunity to "Restore Factory Settings" WITHOUT FIRMWARE UPDATE. Now I have a factory restored console with 6.2.0 firmware and ready to make some modification.

I thought I would write this experience to see if this information could come in handy to others.
