Hello everyone, I was about to update my Switch by following this self-made noobproof guide:

SWITCH UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Download the files from SDSetup: [LINK I AM NOT SURE I COULD POST].
  2. Delete the folders on the SD card instead of replacing them.
  3. Copy all the files to the SD card.
  4. Download the SWITCH firmware update from Darthsternie: [LINK I AM NOT SURE I COULD POST]
  5. Create a folder named "Firmware xxxx" in the root of the SD card and copy the firmware update files into it.
  6. Download the sigpatches from https://gbatemp.net/threads/sigpatches-for-atmosphere-hekate-fss0-fusee-package3.571543/.
  7. Copy the sigpatches to the indicated location.
  8. Update Hekate.
  9. Start the SWITCH as usual (power off while connected to the PC, insert the pin on the right, enter RCM mode by holding "+" and "Power", use Tegra to inject the payload).
  10. Launch the CFW.
  11. Launch Daybreak and install the firmware update.
  12. Everything should now be working correctly. If not, look for videos and/or ask for help on GBAtemp.
As you probably can imagine, this time I've had problems at the 1st step already, since SDSetup has unfortunately shut down after my last console update. Could anyone tell me what should I do instead, please? Thank you in advance!

EDIT: I have already tried to download the Deepblue package, as advised from SDSetup, but what is inside the package is this (see image) and it's very different from what I got in the SDSetup packages, how am I supposed to use it?

I wouldn't touch pre-made packs such as SDSetup, Deepblue, HATS, or whatever to update my Switch firmware. This is what my method looks like. This is not using sigpatches at all. The sys-patch sysmodule works 100% to allow playing pirated contents. Every file operations can be done using Hekate (Tools > USB Tools > SD card) and plugging the Switch to your computer with a USB-C cable. No need to take out your SD card. Folder names are Italic, file names are bold.

1. Erase the contents of the bootloader folder, except for these two files: hekate_ipl.ini and nyx.ini

2. Erase the atmosphere folder

3. Extract the new firmware files (downloaded from the source you mentioned in your step 4) in a folder named "whatever_name" on the root of your SD card

4. Extract the latest Atmosphere zip to the root of your SD card

5. Extract the latest Hekate zip (specifically the bootloader folder in the zip) to the root of your SD card

6. On your SD card, cut the file atmosphere/reboot_payload.bin, paste it to bootloader/payloads, and rename it fusee.bin

7. Copy (just copy, don't cut) the file bootloader/update.bin, paste it inside the atmosphere folder, and rename it reboot_payload.bin

8. Extract the latest nx-ovlloader zip to the root of your SD card

9. Extract the latest ovlmenu zip to the root of your SD card

10. Extract the latest sys-patch to the root of your SD card. Note: if this zip contains another zip inside, you need to extract the second zip to your SD card. Otherwise, you would just put a zip file on your SD card, and it wouldn't work.

Once everything is done, reboot the Switch and launch Atmosphere. Use the daybreak homebrew to update your firmware.

This is the content of my hekate_ipl.ini. You are free to adjust it to your liking of course.

Hello, noob here. Need advice on how to properly install just dance. I downloaded and installed just dance via tinfoil, and also the save file for the songs. But when I open the game it just says no connection and there’s no songs etc.

Appreciate the expert’s kind advice!
 
Hi everyone, I have a big problem. My Switch refuses to boot up. Whenever I turn it on, I get an error message with the code 2002-2634. I already tried restarting it and shutting it off/on, but it still returns to the error message at bootup. This started happening just now after Smash Bros crashed after I exited the Mod Manager (it does that often for some reason) but this is the first time that I was unable to boot back into the Switch home menu after a crash. Could this have anything to do with disabling nogc? I followed the instructions in the following link yesterday so that I could fix my Switch's game cart reading issue. https://rentry.org/DisableNOGC

Atmosphere keeps crashing. I take it off the dock? It crashes instantly. I go leave to do an errand and come back to it? Its crashed. I put it in its case to take with me to work? Not only has it crashed, its burned through at least half of its battery capacity before I can get it to finally boot.

What the hell is its problem? See attached. It gave me this when I took it off the dock, to start up ttyd. It *played* fine, docked. But with this behavior, I literally cannot take it anywhere because it'll just burn through its battery before I can play at all. And that is bullshit.

Addendum.

Perfect example of the misery and frustration this keeps causing.

I wake up at 4am, to get ready to leave home for work around 530. Reboot thr switch because it crashed as soon as I take it off the dock. Start work @ 6.

Clock off for break a bit after 9. Unpack switch from its case. Of course it's blazing hot to the touch and it shows the same atmosphere crash error screen. Reboot, mash buttons to get it to actually boot the damn environment.

It already wasted 80% of the battery! This is beyond unacceptable. What the hell do I have to do, to make this thing behave again?

I can only image how frustrating it is. :(

Unfortunately, I haven't found anything that might help you out directly. The only thing I can suggest is to backup your saves, create a new emuNAND from scratch after you make sure that your SD card is legit and working properly (with h2testw) and update to the latest versions of the firmware, Atmosphere, Hekate, sys-patch homebrew apps and any other overlay and sys-module you may be using. You can also wait for someone else more knowledgeable to reply back to you or check in ReSwitched Discord server.
 
Hello, I'm about to buy a used CFW Nintendo Switch OLED with dual boot and I'm confused on what I am not allowed to do. They say you're not allowed to go online but what does online really mean? Is connecting to the internet OK? Or playing online is what is not allowed? When I power up the Switch, is it OK to connect it to wi-fi? How do I test that it's connectable? Thank you in advance.

In order to avoid getting banned, you should setup DNS MITM or 90DNS in order to block Nintendo servers and the telemetry from your console to be sent back to them. After you do so, connecting to the Internet is fine for e.g. local multiplayer, downloading homebrew apps through homebrew store, using Tinfoil shops, etc.

I have no experience with it but It should be possible to unofficially play online by using LAN Play for some games that support it.
Since you have "dual boot", if your sysNAND is clean, you can go and play your legally purchased games online.

On emuNAND, only if you have DNS MITM or 90DNS set up.
On sysNAND, it's safe to connect to the Internet only if it's clean.

Once you set up DNS MITM or 90DNS, you can connect to your WiFi network and run 90DNS Tester.
If everything is blocked! you're good to go.

I've done some searching and watching some videos. I saw some CFW has a lot of homebrew apps that I don't think I'll use. How can I delete these apps?

Have you installed any games on your sysnand that isn't from Nintendo eShop?

I left my switch out of my sight charging while on emummc, my little brother came and played minecraft, the thing is the game asked him to disable plane mode and he did so, but I hadn't configure any wifi network so it didn't connect to internet.

Still, Should I do a systemwipe to avoid a possible ban?

A system wipe will not prevent a ban, whoever told you that is a liar.
