So, If Emunand dump my Nand, can I do just one process in order to obtain both? (backup and emunand)
Actually, I did a Nand backup from Hekate already (although I didn't verified it, as I wasn't aware it was possible). I wonder if it is necessary to do a new one since I moved to SX OS.
No, EmuNAND doesn't dump your NAND to your SD card; it makes a copy of it which it then repartitions into EmuNAND. You cannot use that file to unbrick SysNAND because it is a file meant for EmuNAND.

Just bought a switch and it came with 8.0.1 (unpatched), should i revert it to 7.0.0 or is it safe to use 8.0.1 (not sure if any of the fuses or anything are burnt or not)

If it didn’t come with autoRCM, your fuses are 100% burnt up to 9. Also CFW works on 8.0.1. No need to downgrade to 7.0.0.

PlaYer says:
"If Nintendo releases a new update, we need to wait until the new update is supported by CFW. When it's supported, you simply update SysNAND with official system update and EmuNAND with the homebrew application ChoiDujourNX."
I am little confused, can i simply update my xs os switch with Choi, do i need update sysnand with official update?

1 - I did a NAND backup using hekate, but I injected the payload through Sx os. I'm having problems dumping my keys using hekate through Sx os,read somewhere that I needed to inject the payload directly. So I was wondering, could this compatibility issue concerning hekate injected through SX OS have messed up my nand backup in anyway?
2 - I'm considering installing autoRCM with SX OS, but I read somewhere about the problems of turning off the switch with autoRCM on. How does it work with sx os?
2.1 - in that case, the only difference of autoRCM on is that I'll never be able to boot into ofw and I won't need a jig?

  1. No, booting Hekate through SX OS will not affect your NAND dump
  2. With SX OS, you have to reboot into the SX OS menu to turn off a console with AutoRCM because if you turn the Switch off normally while running SX OS, it will reboot into RCM. Free CFW avoid this altogether because they now properly turn off a console whenever you shut down the console which is one of the many disadvantages of SX OS
  3. Yes

What is the correct procedure with auto rcm for the SX OS?
Turn it off via the option inside the SX OS menu?
Turn it off through the power button.. and completely shut off instead of sleep mode?

I read about draining batteries because of sleep mode? So you need to turn it off completely?

If it gets drained .. what should be done?

I have SX OS with EMUNAND on 7.0.1.
this CFW has the option to transfer files through FTP. When I try to enable this it says an internet connection is required.
But I for the moment, I deleted all my wifi settings to avoid triggering an update (auto update is turned off) or anything else.
So activating my wifi settings doesn't feel too safe to do. But maybe i'm too cautious
What is the correct way to avoid launching anything unwanted?

You can go on wifi as long stealth mode is on.

3 small questions:

-Do I need to make a backup of my nand and keys every time I update the firmware with choidujournx? Or is this not necessary?

-Currently I'm using Goldleaf and always put my files on the SD card itself to install games. But I like to switch over to fat (instead of exfat). So I need to learn how to install over USB. But I'm having a hard time figuring out what the best/easiest/most successful client for windows 7/10 to use? Also do I need to prepare anything else switch wise?

-Is it safe to install NSP's to the internal memory of the switch? I have never done this before. I don't go online anyway so being banned is not an issue to consider.

You are on emunand so it doesn't matter, you can always update via choidujourNX if you are worry about update prompt, if stealth mode was mode maybe the system would update via ota.

I think I'm just confused with OFW.
1) First you need to boot up normally in OFW to set the WIFI codes. I was worried because being in OFW and getting wifi connection would make the switch check for updates (but not downloading them because I have disabled the auto update)
2) Afterwards you need to restart the system with the jig and the dongle to get into the EMUNAND.. and safer baxcause of the standard stealth mode

It's just the first step that I'm not sure about... sorry if it might seem like a dumb question

You can configure the wifi setting on Emunand, you don't have to boot into OFW.

I have a few questions about ban. First, I want to say what happened with my system:

I bougth a new Switch and the seller pre-installed for me Atmosphere along with some games and homebrews and the backup of the clean Nand in fw 4.X.X. The first time I tried to boot, I failed to load RCM and it loaded in OFW. As I wasn't aware, I tried to boot a game with no success. It was, however, in Airplane mode, so nothing happened, but I assume this burnt fuses anyway it was updated to 7.0.1 at this point.

Then I did this:
- Booted Atmosphere CFW
- Activated AutoRCM from Hekate
- Added and removed some NSP
- Cleaned my SD and recreated it my way
- Opened a few homebrews
- Changed from Atmosphere to SX OS

So, let's say I set up an Emunand now and try to go online in OFW.

1) At this point, can I consider myself already banned if I go online without 9DNS or Stealth Mode?
2) Is it possible to restore my 4.X.X Nand even though I already burnt fuses?
3) If I get banned, will I still be able to connect to the internet and connect through everything that's not in Nintendo servers?
4) Is it as safe to go online with Stealth mode as it is with 9DNS?

I don't care too much about using Switch to play online to be honest, but I want to understand my situation and what I can and cannot do.

Hello, is there a way of moving my nsp installed games on my sd back to a nsp file on my pc?
Thanks

  1. Since ChoiDujourNX doesn't burn fuses, its not necessary but if you want a NAND backup that matches your firmware, you can dump it if you want to
  2. There are a couple of options. These include Aluminum Foil, Fluffy, and NS-USBloader. They all work with Tinfoil as well which is better than Goldleaf when it comes to installing .NSP files in my opinion
  3. About as safe as installing to a non-fake SD card

  1. Already banned is an overstatement since there is always a chance you just do not get banned. A more accurate description is you will flag yourself if you go online without 90DNS or Stealth Mode
  2. Yes but you will need to use a bootloader (e.g. payload that boots CFW) that bypasses the fuse check. Enabling AutoRCM after the restore will ensure you always perform this step as well as avoid the soft brick when you try turning the console on without manually booting into RCM
  3. A ban only applies to Nintendo's servers. It would be ludicrous if a ban affected the wireless capabilities of the console, not to mention potential legal trouble due to tampering with a device a customer owns and bought
  4. Roughly yes but there isn't much you can do with 90DNS/Stealth Mode. FTP can be replaced with the homebrew application nxmtp which is a USB transfer protocol tool. The Homebrew appstore isn't necessary as you can manually download and place the homebrew applications on your SD card yourself. Switch LAN Play and Xlink Kai can be used without 90DNS/Stealth Mode

Your console doesn't store them as .NSP files because a .NSP file is just a container; what is actually installed are .NCA files. Because of this, you will need a specialized tool to convert and dump them into .NSP format. Examples include Goldleaf and SD to NSP Dumper.
