I never used autoRCM personally, but as @SonGoku78 mentioned above, I highly recommend to shut down from Hekate. Then, you'll be absolutely sure it's off, and you can store it in a drawer for several weeks without any problems. When you want to use it again, just press the power button, and you'll be back to RCM, ready to push a payload.Hello friends, could someone explain to me for-dummies...
My switch has autoRCM, it was installed already when I got it and in all these years I've only kept it in sleep mode in its dock when not in use. I only ever shut it down if I need to inject a payload again for any reason. As I understand this shutdown (i.e. hold power button -> power options -> turn off) is only putting the console in RCM mode and not shutting it down "for real". I've always had the impression that if the console were to shut down for real, or ran out of battery, I would have to manually re-enable AutoRCM by whichever method was used initially (inserting a jig into the side-rails?) but I might be completely wrong.
What WILL happen if my switch runs out of battery? And what would you recommend if I ever wanted to store it away for a prolonged period of time? Is there a way to safely turn it off for real, then next month or so recharge it -> RCM -> Payload?
I'm on the 19.0.0, Atmosphere 1.8.0, Hekate 6.2.2 if that matters.
Thanks for reading.
Hello,
I recently bought a secondhand V1 Switch with an SX OS dongle. I know that SX OS is outdated, so I'm now using Hekate. Is there a way to make the SX OS dongle usable to boot into Hekate?
power off is power off. it doesnt go back into rcm mode unless you press the power button or plug in a power source. not anymoreHello friends, could someone explain to me for-dummies...

Hacking a Switch hasn't changed since the scene began so you can follow any guide that is still up as some have been taken down. This guide is still active so I'd recommend following it. As for updating your Switch, I'd actually recommend not updating it before hacking as there are alternative ways of updating your console once its hacked.Howdy
Is there a recent guide for unpatched Switch using Mac / OSX?
Should I update my switch before setting up a CFW?
Thanks!

i am trying that and nothing happens, it doesnt transfer across. its strange. so i tried the direct method and it says no spaceThat's probably why. Why are you transferring files to the SD card? Why don't you use dbibackend on your PC to install the game instead?

The file you're trying to copy to your SD card exceeds the maximum of 4GB that can be transferred to the FAT32 formatted drive.i am trying that and nothing happens, it doesnt transfer across. its strange. so i tried the direct method and it says no space
Skip the 19.0.0 and go straight to 19.0.1 as the 19.0.1 fixed some of the issues 19.0.0 introduced.also ive going to update now firmware 19.00 to see if that helps or fixes anything
