I updated my emuMMC to 19.0.1 but for some reason it doesn't wake up if I put it to sleep anymore. I have to force restart my Switch every time. Is there a way to downgrade?
you don{t need downgrade (is the same process of upgrade) YOU NEED TO UPGRADE YOUR SYSMODULES, Is a know bug on SYS-Clock

Im on the themezer website trying to get a theme for my switch, but every page i go to the id for the theme is cut off. specifically the first few letters/numbers of the id is cut off on every one of them. I only know this because on certain themes itll explain what an id is and show the full id elsewhere, am i doing something wrong?

Can't reboot to payload on a mariko console with the standard install tutorial/bundle, is there an alternative app?

Is there any conceivable reason for leaving an unpatched Switch on FW 9.1.0? Had the thing for a while now and never updated the system's own firmware. It was no issue in the past but when booting without fusee (through Hekate & package3) my card slot doesn't work on the emuMMC, and that's pretty annoying. I don't want to update it to 19.0.1 yet either, ideally I'd be on 18.1.0 for the time being. I hardly ever boot with anything other than fusee, but sometimes the other method is helpful for some troubleshooting.

The switch is banned anyways, so if I update the sysMMC with daybreak and 18.1.0 FW files, will the card reader also get updated properly? Or do I have to do a vanilla system upgrade, which would land me on FW 19.0.1? This is "here be dragons" territory for me.

I guess I'm going to. I made it this far, I can wait a little longer. My ultimate hope is for some sort of coldboot exploit for unpatched units to magically appear, but that's a long shot. AutoRCM is the best I got at the moment, and it is plenty good enough saving me from having to use my jig every single time. It just sucks if the Switch turns off and I don't have a USB-C cable on me, lol.

Also if the Switch is already banned, there's no reason really to use EmuNand.
The whole reason for the emuNand is so that I can leave my OFW alone and use a more recent firmware on the emuNand. I guess since it's an unpatched unit I can always downgrade the FW if I have to. I am just not sure what to do about the card reader. If I update it, it will stop working when I downgrade, as far as I understand it. Thanks, that made sense.

So I understand that there is the possibility of a ban if one uses homebrew on the SysNAND, but here is my question.

Have there been any known cases of bans from people who imported saves from EmuNAND to SysNAND for games that do not use the online feature at all? This assuming that the people have launched the Homebrew launcher through the R button and not a .nro.

Yes. Some of those people got banned only in the game they modified but the risk is still there nevertheless.

On a scale from 1 being "screwing in a light bulb" to 10 being "reflowing the RAM", how hard is a battery replacement on a V1 Switch?

I didn't realize how far my battery performance had degraded until I played around with a newer unit. I barely get 1 1/2 hours of game time out of it anymore, and I think it is high time for a battery replacement before it goes all spicy pillow on me.

Its not that hard, just take your time. Watch this video. https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nintendo+Switch+Battery+Replacement/112995

That looks straightforward, I'd give the procedure a "4" on my arbitrary scale. Lots of screws, mostly. Mucking about with the SD card reader makes me a little nervous, but it can't be helped I guess. The connector looks like it might become damaged if one sneezes at it. Glad to see the battery is not soldered in.

What's an acceptable real world scenario battery life for a V1 playing games anyways?

a couple hours on more demanding games, more if you play less demanding games, even more if you reduce clock speed when playing less demanding games
I'm getting about 1 1/2 hours playing Tears of the kingdom before the console dips out, for example. This strikes me as rather anemic. "A couple of hours" is pretty ambiguous though, that could mean an hour or three, with the later being more than twice that of my current battery life. I'm not sure if it is time to replace my battery, and if I would see a noticeable improvement, like adding an extra hour onto my play time.

v1 switch get about 2.5 hr to 6.5hr vs 4.5hr to 9hr for v2 and oled. but you can take a look at hekate battery report, you get a general idea how is your battery health.

hello. which installer is recommended now for switch games? DBI - rumours about brick code, Tinfoil - collects data for some reason, and from what i read it often breaks and generally seems instable. what do you guys recommend now? is DBI, as it seems the best one, is okay in the end of the day, without worrying about bricking / banning my console?

  1. No
  2. Basically, you use a jig to boot the console into CFW then you plug in a USB cable to send a payload to actually launch CFW. The CFW you will be using is Atmosphere. If you need a longer version, you can follow this guide
  3. Yes, you can update to the latest firmware but make sure you update your CFW before you do so

TinWoo Installer has been my go-to since day one and it has never failed me
