Hello fellow tempers,

On past versions of TinWoo was a problem about listing or loading a folder with several files to install, a summary is on post https://gbatemp.net/threads/tinwoo-installer.579661/page-16#post-10282289.

An old temper worked on the code and make some tweaks correcting the problem, now you can batch install several files at the same time without crashing the app.

Tinwoo is a No-Bullshit-No-Bullshit NSP, NSZ, XCI, and XCZ Installer for Nintendo Switch

Features

  • Installs NSP/NSZ/XCI/XCZ files and split NSP/XCI files from your SD card
  • Installs NSP/NSZ/XCI/XCZ files over LAN or USB from tools such as NS-USBloader
  • Installs NSP/NSZ/XCI/XCZ files over the internet by URL or Google Drive
  • Installs NSP/NSZ/XCI/XCZ files from a Hard Drive (NTFS/Fat32/ExFat/EXT3/EXT4)
  • Verifies NCAs by header signature before they're installed
  • Installs and manages the latest signature patches quickly and easily
  • Works on SX OS and Atmosphere
  • Able to theme, change install sounds
  • Auto-update-able from repository

Here's the Tinwoo forwarder so you can run Tinwoo directly from your home screen and not in applet mode. Forwarder is in the XCI format (which is useful for testing you have correct sig patches to run xci installed during a firmware update, without corrupting your game).

By the way I will love to have the theme on the OP!

Violating the GPL by not making his changes open source, and he's already stated he doesn't want to share the changes. Also a violation by removing the license, not including it in every release, and not including the original authors. The Temp has hit a new low with piracy.

Repeat offender too. That firmware dumper on his github is actually just my old biggestDump app with the GPL license plastered in the readme cause he got butthurt I reported him for violating it. Barely any changes whatsoever from what I recall too. Minor changes, didn't fork it, claimed a huge rewrite, but I saw no such thing. Not sure what github will do about it, but go for it if it bothers you.

Btw, xcz support does not work. Xcz by default has block compression and tinwoo does not support it.
To be fair most times people get a game from the "usual places", it's either an NSP or XCi file.

It does support the following though - NSP/NSZ/XCI/XCZ (NSZ and XCZ without block compression).

If you have games that are compressed with block compression you can use Tinfoil or DBI, I like the easiness of using Tinwoo though, it's interface is big enough to see without wearing glasses, it's easy to theme, it's easy to use and for most of the time it installs games just fine.

If you want a file manager/ticket manager and some other features, yes there is DBI (which you stopped releasing in English), it's a great bit of software with many features. But if you just want to install a game - Tinwoo is good enough for most people and it's basic features are all that is needed and basic is what most people want.

For block compression, will this be supported in the future? Who knows? but if you keep complaining about software people "upgrade" for free well you probably will just piss the dev off and he/she/they/them/it/cat person/etc will probably stop giving you things. In the same way that you did by now only updating DBI in Russian and stopped releasing to the public.

@OrGoN3
I remember when Tinwoo github was public with the code, it was this way for a few years and only about 3 people or something like that contribued with language translations, but not with any actual feature code or fixes. The github was only closed when Tinwoo stopped releasing. There were a few years that you could have downloaded the source, but you probably didn't. I don't know if there's anything on internet archive but there's bound to be a few people that downloaded the code if you are looking for it you should ask around. If not just download Tinleaf code and mod it to how you want.

EDIT: Yep the code was public - it's on internet Archive way back machine:

https://github.com/blawar/tinleaf
https://github.com/Huntereb/Awoo-Installer
https://github.com/dezem/AtmoXL-Titel-Installer

These above pretty are much the same as Tinwoo so I think the code might be the same. I'm not a coder so can't help you. I hear python is easy to learn but it looks a bit complex for me so C++ which I think the above links code is, well that's far beyond my level. I only found out the other day that a hard drive memory and ram were two different things if that helps.

I just reported that announced xcz support does not work, and you again started to complain about DBI versions. I do not release any of the dbi's version at all. Ask that people who create repositories or other download place and pretend to be source of the dbi. Just FYI build script compiles all 5 language versions.

Could you give someone like @impeeza access to the compiler? :)

unfortunately installing the forwarder a got invalid signature
Forwarders can not be created with valid signature unless you are working in N.
Post automatically merged:

indeed made that way in order to test sigpatches needed to run software without valid signature
You do not need to create it in xci format for test that. Usual nsp will work absolutely the same as signature is invalid in any case.

You completely missed the entire point of what I said. I don't care how long the original was up for or how long the fork was public for. Changes are being made and are being kept private. The original gpl is nowhere to be seen. These are both violations of the original gpl. Time passing doesn't change anything. It's in clear violation, and Mr dude's attitude demonstrates his unwillingness to comply with it. There's no argument there. It's plain and simple.

So, Brickachu is uploading the releases to that Russian forum by themselves?

To be honest, I would think that people breaking the law by installing XCI and NSP files are not really concerned about the whole licence law thing, I mean It's a bit hypocritical to install licenced "pirated" sofware, then complain about the software they used to break the law with breaking some sort of licence law.
