ironfoil is a project I've been working on for the last couple of days.

I like NS-USBloader, but I really don't like to use GUIs unless I have to.
That, combined with distaste for Java caused me to try to reimplement parts of NS-USBloader as a tiny command-line tool in Rust.

I'm very proud of the result, even though it's far from finished.

What ironfoil can do currently:
- USB transfers to Awoo Installer
- Network transfers to Awoo Installer
- NSP, XCI and NSZ are supported

I'm very happy for any and all feedback, ideas, comments!

It looks like Ironfoil fails to do anything if trying to connect via USB 3.0 mode. While USB 3.1 Gen 2 -> Switch is broken even in Awoo Installer, USB 3.1 Gen 1 -> Switch did work via NS-USBloader and Awoo.

Specifically, I get this error if I try to start a transfer via Ironfoil to Sphaira (which works fine in USB 2.0 mode):

Code:
$ ironfoil usb --sphaira .
Error:
   0: Failed to perform initial handshake with Sphaira.
      Ensure Sphaira is open on the Nintendo Switch, and in the menu 'USB Install'.
      If you are trying to transfer to Awoo Installer or CyberFoil, use the regular tinfoil USB install option instead.
   1: invalid or unsupported argument

And this if I try to start via Ironfoil to Awoo:

Code:
$ ironfoil usb .
Sent list of games to Nintendo Switch.
Starting tinfoil USB install.
Error:
   0: invalid or unsupported argument

Am I doing something wrong?

Edit: While the USB 3.1 Gen 2 issue itself isn't the core issue here since Gen 1 doesn't work either (my cable only does 5Gbps anyway), there was some other peripheral that didn't work right until I plugged it into a Gen 1 port. It might be an isolated quirk with my motherboard or OS setup for all I know...

Interesting.
Do you use GitHub and would you be willing to respond to my request for more details on the tracking issue I created: https://github.com/sermuns/ironfoil/issues/24#issuecomment-4305958900

If not, you can just respond here or in a direct message.
