Just tried superdump on a wii with only homebrew installed. I got the sector read error as well. I stumbled across this post and followed the instructions. Now everything works perfectly. Hope this helps someone else!

Hey

I wanted to report and advice for anyone using usb hdd..... always do first the benchmark before begginin to dump because in some weird cases the program uses usb1 withouth givin the message that it has not found the usb2, it weird but it has happened to me twice.

benchmark =>25 seconds usb1

Just wanted to say that I cant get it to read the USB port if i boot it from the SD card so im stuck with bootin from the USB wich with the kingston usb sticks means im stuck with USB 1 speeds
Anyone got a solution?

SuperDump makes a 1:1 backup into your FAT32 partition. This will retain everything, including the update partition and the original signature. When dumping from a USB loader, the ISO goes into the WBFS partition, which causes it to be scrubbed and compressed. In some loaders, all partitions get removed except for the game ("DATA") partition.

Hm... I got an error when trying to dump. It can't read the filesystem on my SD card. It is formatted in FAT32. Any ideas?

Shameless bump.

Also, no, unless you do something really stupid (delete all IOS or something like that) the chance of you bricking your Wii is slim to none.
I got the same error message using a traxdata 4GB USB flash drive. I tried reformatting it but the problem wasn't resolveable. I just switched to another flash drive, a cruzer with 8GB space, and it worked just fine. It also worked when I tried an attache 2GB some time ago.

all my games dump to 99%, even the ones with no scratches :/
any ideas?

If you have a modchip installed (particularly a Cyclowiz or Wasabi) this may be the cause. Are you getting "Error reading sector data" messages at 99%?

It seems that these modchips may be preventing the Wii from reading the last few sectors of the disc when using disc dumping apps. This is not 100% confirmed, but I have experienced this issue and I have come to the conclusion that it is my Wasabi Zero that is causing it.
i had no problems using superdump in the past, however, i get this error at 99% when trying to dump "zack & wiki".
i have no modchip or other hardware modifications installed!
it stops at 1174962176 / 1174994944. has anyone else tried dumping this game?

is the disc scratch free and no thumbprints?, never experienced any problems with superdump my self but most if not all my discs are perfect condition. I haven't personally ripped zack & wiki though

i got it from the video rental store but i can't see any blemishes on the surface.
i recently installed the cIOS38 rev14, might that be the problem?

quite possible, but I doubt it. I have just did madden 08 and 09 with rev 14 and it spat out good 1:1's
video rental places run discs though the buffers almost everytime they get it back, i believe is slowey destroys the disc.

i successfully installed it using USB loader GX, probably it was some of the garbage data that couldn't be dumped.

Note: cIOS r13 is recommended since r14 may have issues dumping
Yes, that is the problem. It's usually not an issue since most discs don't necessarily need the last few sectors, but it's a problem with r14.

I would not trust the file AerialX linked :\

At least not until official word comes down from tueidj that it is legit
