Exclusive BETA Software Received

The SCDS2 Video Plug-in is ready for BETA and GBATemp has received an exclusive copy for testing. I have to say that early impressions are very good, the software runs files at full speed and seems very polished. It really makes you say "DPG-what?" the first time you see an XVID file playback on the DSi XL!

I will be working on a hands-on impression post as soon as possible. Until then, here are a few images which should hopefully get you excited. Please feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them directly or include answers in the hands-on impressions.

This is great news. I hope they avoided the, I'm not going to say "bugs" but rather "very unfortunate design choices", of the iPlayer's software, like the lack of folder support.

unfortunately there is no exact release date right now, they are waiting for feedback to see if everything's working as expected.
if it is, then it'll be released very shortly (within a week? thats my guess) if there are MAJOR issues we might have to wait for a fix...
though from what I can tell its really smooth atm!

IS there a video quality difference compared to dpg? I mean, if its looks the same as dpg there's no point of having a larger file unconverted file.

I can imagine that by throwing videos through DivX converter, using the mobile profile (320x240) and renaming the .divx files to .avi files, this Video plugin will play them back beautifully.

I can't wait to try it out!
