Hey, just putting this out here. Of all the info that's been released so far regarding SSBU, not one source has yet confirmed what controllers it supports. Since not all Wii U games even from Nintendo support Classic Controllers, I think it's good to put this to rest: SSBU does have Classic Controller support!
Source: PDP (Performance Designed Products). They've announced the Wired Fight Pad, which is licensed by Nintendo and coincides with the release of SSBU. It'll have GameCube controller inspired design and plugs directly into the Wii Remote, much like a Classic Controller. Press release can be read here: http://www.joystiq.com/2014/05/26/enter-the-super-smash-bros-melee-with-gamecube-inspired-control/.
This means TvC and Tekken TT2 arcade sticks will also be compatible. As will an actual GameCube controller either modded internally with a Classic Controller circuit board, or with an adapter like the Mayflash or Extenmote.
