Hacking Stuck on boot Loading How to update?

Hi, can someone assist me? I am trying to update a Nintendo DS lite with R4 SDHC. but when it boots it gets stuck on "loading"

Info I have:
My nephew has a Nintendo DS lite with a R4 SDHC

It kind of looks like R-4 Kernel without I mark
except for that it doesn't have the website listed on it not does it say "upgrade"

Other then that identical.

I have to update this DS so I can let him play some of newer DS games. However some did not work like one of the newer spongebob games and some others.

So I thought I ought to update the DS. but now im having issues... Can someone please assist?

I have tried RetroGameFan Multi Cart Update 7.00B3
and copying data from R4SDHC YSMenu folder to root.
Tried R4 V1.79b Dutch from the R4 website I mentioned earlier.
Both stuck on loading..
Getting desperate tried combining the two still stuck on loading..

You can try the R4-SDHC Kernel (without i mark).

That's the one I tried My friend.

That's the one that worked for me before at 6.96 I believe.
But I was look at the files. And I think I need something else for the update tot 7.00?
Aside from 6.96 there are some files on it that are not present in the extracted 6.96, or maybe they were created in "usage" of the DS... I dunno

At any rate the SDHC 7.00B3 files from retro keep stuck on loading...

Do I need to update something else? the DS? flash something I have no clue...

I want it to be able to play all games.

For example plants vs zombies freeze no error code

Some other games too and return error code 1 and -4 or 4 I think.
