EDIT 2- This is pretty much confirmed to be true. First scan here-

EDIT- This game name was a newly registered trademark from Square Enix, so this story is most likely true-

Take this with a grain of salt, but IGN (IGNorance jokes aside) is bringing in the news that the Square Enix mystery game teaser site was revealed through a leaked magazine scan. Not sure where the scan is, but here's a few tidbits about the game-

- Title is Hikari no Yon Senshi: Final Fantasy Gaiden, or Four Warriors of Light: Final Fantasy Gaiden
- Nintendo DS RPG in which players take control of a 14-year-old boy tasked with saving a princess
- The game kicks off on your birthday as you're summoned by a King whose daughter has been kidnapped by a witch.
- Standard menu-driven turn based RPG
- No MP, but ability points that even normal attacks consume. "Store/build" button to build back up AP.
- Equipment changes to your characters result in changes to physical appearance.
- Final Fantasy Gaiden hits Japan this Fall.
- Artwork designed by Akihiko Yoshida (FF Tactics and FF12)
- No relation to the Mana games (which was referred to as FF Gaiden when first released)

Apparently this info was obtained by scans in a "weekly jump". Not sure what that means, unless it's Famitsu or Shonen Jump. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Graphics actually look really neat to me. This game seriously reminds me of a recent Sega RPG called 7th Dragon also on DS. The art style is strikingly similar, except that it was mostly in 2D not 3D. You really can't judge this game yet from just one scan. Wait until we get at least some better quality clean images taken at DS resolution if not some videos to show us what it looks like in action.

The graphics of the game are terrible wtf Square-Enix what were you smoking when you made this game.

+1 They proved that graphics could be good on DS with KH days, they should do it again. But it may also be just the scan quality....

This game really looks cool though.

Seems to be Shonen jump, noting their symbolic pirate on the man's face near the top of the scan.

Sounds awesome. Can't wait to see what's there to explore, as not as the game itself is a bore to do such in. Looks nice though.

Hmm, I was expecting this to be FFI related, but it seems that it's a completely unrelated game that's probably part of the Final Fantasy Fables series. Still looks pretty interesting though.

This looks pretty cool. The whole Ability Points thing is different, so I will have to try the Japanese version when it comes out.
