It's possible to downgrade and install Reinand WITHOUT redownloading original games on N3DS?
I have a 100% legal N3DS with over 20GB of original content from eshop.

I really want to downgrade and setup Reinand but i don't really want to download EVERYTHING over again.

Its possible to do that?

All your software should still be there after the downgrade (if all goes well).
You just cant execute anything that needs firmware above 9.2 while in sysnand.

some tutoriais said that i have to do tiny format to formay my emunand and sysnand before emunand install.

This is crap, so? haha

thanks =)

Having tried the pre betas and now the official beta. Is anyone experiencing a system crash when leaving a game via the home button?

The only thing I used tinyformat for was to unlink my sysnand without removing the SD card and to not screw with my NNID. That was long after I had a working 9.2 sysnand and fully working 10.3 emunand on my N3DS.

Is it possible to install the modified gba from files so we can install gba titles on 10.3 ReiNand

if you mean the patched agb_firm, then yes. I think you have to install it to both emunand and sysnand. Also you need to install the gba games themselves to both sysnand and emunand.

Does pirated DLC not work with ReiNAND? I installed Smash DLC and the only ones loading are ones I've actually purchased. Also can't play the Dual Destinies DLC. N3DS XL with EmuNAND 10.3.0-28U if it matters

DLC needs to be from the same region as the game, and both preferably should be from the same region as your console when possible.

Easiest way to make sure they are from the same region is to use your cia installer to check the title id. The last 8 characters of the ID need to be the same. The same applies for updates as well.

For example, for the USA version of Smash the TitleIDs should be as follows:

Game: 00040000000EDF00
Update: 0004000E000EDF00
DLC: 0004008C000EDF00

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I have my ambassador ones on their so it shouldn't be an issue (in theory) lol
The official ambassador games do not need the patched firm installed at all. You only need to install it if you plan to play custom gba vc games.

My SysNand and ReiNand linked automatically when I created it for some reason, I'm guessing if
I check "that iso site" I'll find the patched files

The first time you use gw or emunand9 to set up an emunand, the resulting emunand will always be linked to your sysnand. This is because it is a direct copy of the contents of your nand chip, meaning both "nands" are using the same console id and keyY for encrypting/decrypting the Nintendo 3DS folder contents.

At that point if you use the system settings app to format the system, whichever nand is currently loaded will generate a new console id and keyY and from that point on the two nands will use different values for those and thus be "unlinked".

Basically linked nands read from the same "sd:\Nintendo 3DS\<id0>\<id1>\" folder, where as unlinked nands read from different folders.

@SkyDX

Would you be so kind as to PM me copies of the various splash screen images you have made? I am going to convert them all to bins and host them for people to be able to pick and choose the splash they want xD

this is my first time using Emunand, back when 9.2 was first out i used PastaCFW so it's all new to me lol

Ok so ideally you would want to unlink your nands. There are a number of issues that can arise from having them linked, from mildly annoying (games rewrapping themselves) down right frustrating (content disappearing because you went into data management).

There are a number of ways to break the link, but all of them effectively involve formatting either the sysnand or the emunand. I STRONGLY suggest you do it by formatting sysnand.

The easiest way to do this is to power the console down, remove the sd card, and the boot into sysnand and format. You will have to set your *hax back up afterwards, but that is fairly simple to do. I have heard reports, however, of this breaking the NNID link on emunand.

Another option is to download a homebrew application called TinyFormat and run it from sysnand. My understanding is that this will format the sysnand in the same manner as the previous method, but will do so without touching the NNID info. Supposedly this prevents the NNID link from breaking on emunand.

Please keep in mind that if you do unlink your nands, any and all DSiWare and GBA titles that you want to play will need to be installed to sysnand as well as emunand.

Never mind, will just wait for RxTools. Not too sure about the Out of Region game support by default and don't want to download some program I will have to run every time.

Last edited by DarkenedMatter,
I installed the agb_firm to both emuNAND and sysNAND as well as the cia's of the gba VC games to both, yet they don't show up on either still. I used FBI to first install the agb_firm, then pressed X to install all the gba cias.
The icons show up in sysNAND for a second as blank squares then dissapear, whereas in emuNAND they don't show up at all. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

It works perfectly for me. Only retroarch gpsp crashes sometime with superstar saga but I'm like 100% sure that's an emulator issue and has not the least to do with reinand.

Are you trying to use out of region cia?

You used FBI to install the agb_firm, but did you install it to the right destination? Pretty sure it needs to be installed to NAND, not SD.
