In character descriptions, there are a lot of punctuation errors an non-standard descriptions.
Yeah, I didn't do those. But the nice thing about a wiki is if you find something wrong, you can change it.

In regards to corrections, we may not be able to explain everything in full detail since there's so little space, but I agree that those lines need to be rewritten, and I approve of most of your suggestions.
- Neither "male"/"female" nor "soldier" should be capitalized.
- "Quarrls" should be "quarrels with her" or something like that.
- I would also prefer to omit "is".

Strong sense of justice This line is OK, but words "strong" and "sense" are kind of weird in the same sentence.

I agree most of your corrections, but not this one. "Strong sense" sounds fine, and some persons even use it as an alliterative device.

If it's a title, we can leave it capitalized. It looks better anyway.

It depends on the descriptions being listed. If the descriptions are too long, you'll have a clunky sentence if you put them all together.

Semi-Related: I haven't gone through the character descriptions thoroughly because I still haven't unlocked that character. xP! I'll see what I can do once I unlock her.

Edit: Fixed the rest of the Act 0 cutscenes. Still have to adjust the tutorial, though.

QUOTE(Mac2492 @ May 12 2008, 08:59 AM) "Strong sense" sounds fine
Yeah, that's a common phrase and we should definitely keep it.

Keep up...Just keep it up!
You are such a legend,Darth...legend I tell....LEGEND!....LEGEND!...LEEEEGEEEND!....
*ehhemm...ehhhemmm...buttons up his pullover^^*

Zerrix

Added stats to the main page of the wiki. Turns out that 45% of the strings in the game are translated, which is more than I expected.

Also, if any hackers or people with debugging experience are reading this, I need help finding the graphics that store the Japanese text in the opening cutscene!

You're right, but this is a bit more complicated because we abbreviated the phrase. In the full version of the phrase, "female" should not be capitalized. Once you abbreviate the phrase, though, it looks odd when "female" isn't capitalized.

"7th female soldier."
OR
"7th Female Soldier."

I say the latter looks better, but it's completely up to you.

On a side-note, I just made A LOT of changes in the magic skills section.

Updated SomaFont to support the text style control codes used in the menus (drop shadow and stroke).

Nice work on the skill descriptions, I added them into the patch and they look great.

I'm new to this forum and I really appreciate what u are doing Nemesis...Me and my friends enjoyed the game very much now that all the Weapons' Traits translated...In addition to that, I found that several Legend Weapons' names are still in katakana...I studied Japanese a lil bit and I might help u with difficult weapon naming

Here's what I thought..

BOROSUZUASSHU = Boros' Ash (The ash part comes from a certain type of wood)

BAROSUZUOOKU = Baros' Oak

Well that's just an opinion..Sorry I'm not much of a help..Best of luck with the translation..

Rewrote the scenario logs for Act 0 and Act 1 to make use of the space, and added full descriptions.

I'm not sure about Boros and Baros, but those wood types would make perfect sense for wands - I'll add them, thanks.

Oh my god! i just tried the latest patch, and the conversations are in English!!! WooT!!!
Great job people!!!!! Keep it up! I'd help if i knew Japanese, but i don't so. xD

DarthNemesis, You rule!

Just a quick note to the translators... I am currently ignoring the Japanese and Literal sections of the (story) script. I'm only checking all the Localized lines. If you can translate the Japanese text and give me enough context on the wording, I'd be more than happy to come up with proper localized lines. Darth, I can also go ahead and start localizing the literal lines if you want me to. I will leave the literal lines there just to be safe, but I'll add localized lines if the literal lines require rewording.

I want this project to move along, so I'm offering to "match" the work done by translators. Once I go through a part of the story in-game, I'll go over the script in the wiki. Let's get this script translated!

Note: I'll be checking grammar, spelling, and formatting (using DarthNemesis' amazingly useful SomaFont application).

P.S. Hey, Darth, how come you haven't added in the fixed weapon skill descriptions yet? I'm not rushing you, of course. I'm just curious because those changes were made before the magic skill description changes.

EDIT: "???" translates to "Priest", but it was localized as "Father". I realize that religious leaders are often referred to as "father", but this translation could throw some people off. For a second, I thought that Einsatz was calling the priest his father. >,>... (Source)

If you didn't notice, there are actually two different links in the Japanese characters.

EDIT 2: What does "mumumu" (???) mean!? (Source_

Completed Act 2 scenario logs.

I've reverted others for a variety of reasons which I'd be happy to discuss, but one thing to keep in mind is formality. I've given each character a different set of language guidelines based on the politeness of the original lines - Millers should use all sorts of contractions and poor grammar, whereas Einsatz or the priest should tend to speak more formally. Welt is casual and headstrong, Granada is technical and precise, and Orpheus uses old-fashioned vocabulary. It may help to check who the speaker is, using SomaEvent or just watching the actual cutscene, to determine the appropriate degree of formality.

Feel free to edit the wording, but please leave them in the same column until someone more fluent than I can take a look at them.

There were only 4 or so that you added later that I hadn't gotten to yet, but they're included now.

I can't really think of a better way to word it. ?? does mean Priest (and that's how I translated it in captions and when he is mentioned indirectly, e.g. "return to the priest"), but since Einsatz uses it with the 'sama' honorific when addressing him directly, I needed a term that would carry a tone of respect. Besides, I've never heard of a priest actually being addressed as such; that would strike me as rude.

Wish I knew. It kinda sounds like a dissatisfied grumble.

I've actually been doing this. I haven't changed ANY of Millers lines because they're supposed to be informal and crazy. I've changed a few of Einsatz lines because I feel that he is using too many contractions.

Will do!

Ah... I guess the "2" in the skill descriptions just stuck out.

I suppose you're right.

It sounds like a cow to me...

EDIT: Apparently, "wildlife" is neither singular or plural. I already changes "grow" to "grows", but you're free to change it back if you think "grow" sounds better. They are both correct in this case.

I have a problem with saving. when I save in any part of junel forest, it brings me back to junel entrance. whan i go back inside junel forest all the items and enemies are back.
I'm using a Cyclods Evolution with firmware 1.4b2.

Just use clean rom, why even try patched when you have clean at hand.
