I finally "hacked" my vWii. Now I want to do everything with it but have no idea where to start. I am a complete newbie and have no idea where to go from here. I do know what I want. Here are some of the things I want:
  • Rip all my Wii games and boot them from an external drive.
  • Install the best emulators for: SNES, N64, GBA, GBC.
  • Setup a channel for all the ripped Wii games.
Can someone guide me in the right direction? Just having the ability to fire up some classics for SNES would do for now.

So, I managed to install Snes9xGx and play a bit of my all time favorite SNES games. Felt really good. My little sister is all over the Tom & Jerry game now. She also enjoys DKC 3 and DKC 2. So much awesome is being felt today! Such amaze! Much coolness! Next up, Nintendo 64.

Check out retroarch for the best nes, snes, gbc, gba etc emulation. Not64 is the best N64 emu

Just tried Not64. Is this the latest version? It's unplayable without the nuncuck, which I still need to purchase. Other than that, the framerate was really smooth on Super Mario 64.

Now, once I install the IOS loader, will I have to make any changes to the Wii ISO rips? I have heard about some kind of scrubbing that has to be done.

If you want to play gamecube games then you can set up Devolution if you have access to a backwards compatible Wii. If you don't have a BC Wii then you can use Nintendont to play gamecube games.

I tried Nintendont and it said the it couldn't find any games in the "games" folder. I clearly had NFS Underground in there. Is there an extra step I am missing? Also, can I use the wired xbox 360 controller with it? I also have this Logitech controller.

Dios Mios, Devolution, and Nintendont use the same games directory

/games/anything/game.iso

So I have to create a folder called "anything"? Or can I name that folder to "anything"? Confusion!

you can name it anything you want.

I normally name it Game Name [GAMEID]

Every game needs it's own folder inside the games folder.

OK. I got the games to load on Nintendont. I even compressed some ISO's to fit an extra game on a single 2gb SD card :D I can verify that this config works for the Logitech Dual Action.
