Is there a mod to make smw super scope compatable?

And yes i am aware of smw jailbreak but that is a diffrent type of thing

I want the code imbeted in the memory and not have to have a user input an overly long code just so a budy can shoot stuff

(Same idea for snes mouse)

Yes, it can be done, by adding the code from the jailbreak into the main game code. It wouldn't be that hard, but probably no-one will do it for a while.

Well now, something right up my alley. I'm a mario world hacker!

You'd need to do lots of really fun shit with the control regs. I know that somebody managed to make the mouse work at one point but afaik it was closed source.
Try looking in the SNES developer's manual, which can be found on romhacking.net

I hope you know ASM, show me if you ever make this work.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

You would need to disassemble the game, add the code, and recompile.

It would probabyly be easier to make a patch. If you expand the ROM, you'll have enough space to insert the routine that initializes the superscope. If you can make it a subroutine, you should be able to JSL to it by using UberASM or something to make it run during level init.

...I just nerded out lol

wait is this on cartridge or are you running a ROM in an emulator?

Short answer: Yes but it would be a total pain in the butt. There's a large community of SMW hackers over on smwcentral.net who would probably be able to give you better advice than I can about this.

Longer answer: You have to do some stuff to initialize the superscope so the game can actually read data from it. I don't know what this stuff is, but from what I remember when I skimmed that part of the manual it's a pretty big chunk of stuff that I really don't want to deal with. I may just be thinking of another part of the manual though, but still.

Super short answer: Anything that adds new hardware to a game requires a lot of complicated shit.

The easiest way would definitely be to inject a hacked save if you can find one.
Doesn't seem like it's easy to find a hacked save though, I tried searching for one.

Or when your player dies, you can say in code, if enemy exists, do nothing, but if enemy does not exist, then create enemy at certain spot. (This would be a pain tho for lots of emeies)

Easiest, simple way would be just restart scene, but player would restart from beginning.
