Hacking Slot 1 cards (R4 or M3 Simply) drag&drop/ no patch

I have a slot 2 m3 mini sd card right now. If I get an R4 card, I do not need to deal with M3 game manager and I just drag and drop and do not need to patch roms? Is this correct? the slot 1 cards look really cheap.

That is correct.

I find patching a very large pain as I have to experiment with games to get them to work even when using m3wiki. Will the R4 have a much greater compatibility rate and a much larger success rate when I first put a game on the card?

Yes, obviously.

You don't even have the option of patching roms with the R4/Simply. You just put the rom on the microSD card and it works as well as it will ever work. (almost always perfectly)

Yes, that's why I have gone for a R4DS, and will never look back at a slot2 solution.
