Tutorial Simple Guide to Downgrading your 3DS

been trying several times already but results are either

- blank screen while opening sysUpdater
- sysUpdater intro message is shown, but pressing Y (downgrade) will freeze the 3ds
- Getting CIA Information failed with error

main.cpp:148: Result: 0xD900182F
Failed to get CIA file info!

any more hints that might be useful?
already tried the ftpbrony trick as well as resetting dbs

I redownloaded it and made sure the md5# for the update was correct but I keep getting

also, old3dsxl

Failed to get cia Infos means that it probably hasn't access to the cias. Start ftbrony before and exit it again.

do you have an old 3ds or new 3ds?
because I've been hearing reports that safesysupdater causes more bricks with new 3ds (and mine is the new 3ds)

New 3DS XL, Blue one! So very happy right now! I tired like 50 times with sysUpdater, and only two times with SafeSysUpdater... and now, now!!! I have it! 9.2! I was so nervous! ufffff..... I was on 10.3 EU version

I can toss my Sky3DS card now!

Well, safesysupdater just hard bricked a friend's a few hours ago.

I still don't get how you can update console to 10.3 if official update is to 10.6

My N3DSXL was on 9.9E. I upgraded it to 10.3 before doing the downgrade.

Some carts physically have update files on them. Find one that has them for 10.3

I think FE:Fates is one of them.

Yeah but you are saying that I would have to buy a sky3ds or similar in order to update to 10.3 to use CFW which doesn't need a cart. Not very intelligent move imho.

okay guys, need help here

so finally I can get past the Getting CIA Information and all goes well with installing CIAs
then all of the sudden, the 3ds shows

An error has occurred
Hold down the POWER Button to turn off the power, then turn it on and try again

am I screwed? thoughts please, should I wait or should I just power off and hope for the best

My was on 10.3, I didnt put 10.6, and didn't soft bricked it, so... everything went ok

okay this is weird

it doesn't brick
and the best thing yet, it's now on 9.2.0
someone tell me what's going on here

will try running gateway later to see if this is indeed the real 9.2.0, but just in case it's not, is it safe to try downgrade again?

Ok, so you basically placed sysUpdater and 10.3 fw from that ISO site, then accessed HBL through browserhax or other similar method and started the Sysupdater program. And after that you did the same but this time with the update folder of 9.2 FW right?
