Have you been able to successfully downgrade your 3DS/2DS?

Sorry I have a few questions.

So I have a N3DS 10.1.0-27U trying to downgrade to 9.2.0-20U.
I have just factory reset my N3DS to erase everything.

The problem I am currently having is that I've been trying to find the same MD5 and SHA-1 listed on page 1
(N3DS 9.2.0-20U:
MD5: e5f40c3b155cfd12ef38be35d2e81d2e
SHA-1: 377c140377fb6cf31a0c032c4e1196cc521f87fe?)
I looked up the CIA stuff listed on page 1 tutorial on google, and went to the iso forum and downloaded N3DS 9.2.0-20U (full) but I noticed the MD5 is different from the one listed above. The one I have is E6339468A1E82B1D50E9222F017C0477.

So now I'm not sure where I need to go or how I can find the e5f40 MD5 one.
Also, is there a way to nand backup the 10.1 without hardmod?
Also, is it okay if I backup the SD card in the root of my 3DS and transfer whatever files are in there to my newly formatted 32GB Sandisk?
And.. This is going to be the noobiest question of them all but the .cia files zip that I have downloaded from the forum, are those files the game files? What kind of .cia files are they? Meaning are they themes or games like Animal Crossing?

Google [MEGA] [CIA/BIN] MSET 4.X & 6.X backups, Browser backups, Update packs (AllRegions). E6339 is the start of the n3ds 9.2U download. That's correct. The cia files in there are firmware files. Cias can be anything from themes to dlc to games to updates. Not sure if you can backup the nand. Someone else has to answer that.

But the E6 isn't the same as the one listed on page 1. What do you mean that it's the start or the N3ds and that it's correct? Would I be safe to put this E6339 in my N3ds folder as listed on page 1 tutorial?

I meant it's the start of the md5 hash. I'm 90% sure that it's the proper files for the n3ds update even though it's a different md5#. I got my update from the same site and it worked. I'd ask someone else to be sure but I'm confident that those files will work to update.

Thank you I think I'm going to try it out now. I'm sorry but I have to ask.. What did you do with your sd card in the root of your 3ds? Would be okay for me to transfer my 3ds root files to a 32gb and replace that to the root of my 3ds?

My sd card's root had the normal files created by the 3ds, the homebrew files (3ds folder and a few other things) and my updates folder. If you simply drag and drop all of the files and folders to any blank as card (formatted to fat32), it should work the same (as long as that as card would work with a 3ds) also, do you use a Mac, or Windows computer?

I have a windows computer. Did you install homebrew before the downgrade or after? After reading that I needed to remove the DNS (Like Tubehax) I factory reset my 3DS thinking my chances of success would be greater.

How are you supposed to downgrade without having homebrew :P

You need to have HBL or an entry point to run SysUpdater

I asked because I ran into problems because I used an iMac. Your computer may add hidden/trash files (starting with a dot) that will make it impossible to downgrade. If you get errors saying can't get cia info, put the sd into your computer, in view, select see hidden files and delete any files with a dot in front of it.

Ahhhhh sorry haha I've had this for a year now and I'm still new to this whole thing. May I ask what homebrew you used for your 3ds? I read just now that I should try out Menuhax? What do you think? Thank you so much for sticking around and helping me.

Also, to answer your earlier question, here is a question from the site.

Unknown: the MD5 for 9.2.0-20U N3ds is different with the tutorial shared everywhere, is that okay?

Reply: It is that way because the original firmware that is shared on tutorials everywhere has been taken down already.

Use browserHax to get into the home brew launcher then run the menu hax installer. MenuHax is much faster to enter, doesn't require Internet and has a launch rate close to 100%

Sorry for the super late reply I got stuck on trying to get browershax to work since my firmware is outdated but I made it work and after launching homebrew and clicking on the sysupdater, I'm now stuck on a black screen. But after watching the video provided, I read that i Just need to try a couple of times to get it working. I noticed that in the video it says "Don't run this in Sysnand gateway mode or it will brick." What is that exactly? I remember reading something about Emunand and sysnand. Do i have to do something to change to Emunand? Is that possible? Or am I safe to keep going?

This sysnand thing Is only for cfw users. Install menuhax and try sysUpdater many times, memchunkhax2 is unstable!
Well I actually plan to install cfw after the downgrade. Would it still be okay if I go ahead with this sysupdate?

If you don't know what gateway mode is, don't worry, you aren't there yet. Set up menuHax and run sysUpdater and downgrade.
You said that if I ever run into the .cia info error I should connect the sd to my computer, click view, and delete any files with a dot in the front. But I do not see any dots in the front. What should I do? I found a post on reddit saying that if I clicked on ftb and then click B afterwards then go to sysupdate it would work-- but that didn't solve my issue either.

In the view option on your computer, click show hidden files and folders

The files you want to get rid of are faded and have a dot infringement of the file name (.trash) is an example of the file.
