[edit: Topic title should say "Should I file a patent" not "Should a file a patent". It seems there isnt a way for me to correct it.]

    First off, my idea:

    Warning: Spoilers inside!

Now that I've swept you off your feet, my question is: should I patent it?
When I had the idea, I was like, man it's times like these I wish I were an entrepreneur. Like the guy who decided to start his own brand of potato chips, on a whim, and now we have Popchips. Thanks a lot!

Unfortunately, I don't own any factories that make chocolate or anything like that. So if I make the patent, it would just be hoping someone buys it from me, or that I sue the guy who makes it. Which would be a pretty douchey move, but I gotta make a living somehow. And it would probably be the highlight of my life.

Anyway, more details on the idea. Each bag would contain an entire set of Mahjong tiles, (pre shuffled) and instructions for layouts. (sort of like Lego sets) As you play the game, whenever you remove tiles, instead of just removing them, you're welcome to eat them. You can play the alone, or take turns removing tiles with friends/family members, so that way you don't get fat.

The utter genius to this idea is that you have to buy another bag in order to play again. I'd make a killing!!

Worst case scenario, however, is if the idea has already been patented.

my idea is different Veho. It would be a complete set of Mahjong tiles in a bag. Not 15 pieces for $39. (wtf?!) Those look like they are too large to play with.

if there are 144 tiles in a mahjong set, the ones in the picture would cost aboit $390 for a set. And that's assuming the maker made at least 2 of each kind, which is doubtful.

Thing is, the product already exists. What would you patent, "that same thing, but cheaper"?

I have a new idea for a patent. Stick-on rubber grips that you apply to the underside of a handheld or tablet.

They could stick using adhesive, but maybe a version that sticks using suction or static electricity. Ideally they should be easy to remove and shouldn't leave too much residue.

The idea is inspired by screen protectors, and the grips under the Vita. Imagine being able to peel off the grips, and stick them onto a 3DS, PSP, iPad, etc.

I just had an idea. Maybe I'll just put electrical tape on my PSP. That would be pretty much the same thing. BRILLIANT.

    YES! That is really cool!

But it's funny. Earlier I realized a slight problem with my idea. On certain devices like a handheld or tablet you want the two grips to be symmetrical. If you apply both grips one a time then they will not line up perfectly and they may not even be straight.

At first I was thinking the product could come with some kind of stencil or frame that you fit over the console. For example, maybe you fit the stickers into the frame, then peel off the adhesive cover from the stickers. Then carefully slide the frame over your system, thereby pressing the stickers into place.

I had another idea of doing it but it's more vague. Imagine some kind of ruler or triangle, with sliding pieces attached on which you connect the stickers to. You would have to do most of the work but at least this would help. The advantage to this idea is that you can sell the stickers for any devices, whereas the above method would only work for that specific device.

I have an idea too: Edible controllers.
Ever got so mad at a game that you just want to crunch your controller? Well now you can without breaking your teeth.
Or when you're playing a game late at night and got hungry? Just take a bite.

Tho idk how to deal with the possibility of it going bad.
