[edit: Topic title should say "Should I file a patent" not "Should a file a patent". It seems there isnt a way for me to correct it.]
First off, my idea:
Now that I've swept you off your feet, my question is: should I patent it?
When I had the idea, I was like, man it's times like these I wish I were an entrepreneur. Like the guy who decided to start his own brand of potato chips, on a whim, and now we have Popchips. Thanks a lot!
Unfortunately, I don't own any factories that make chocolate or anything like that. So if I make the patent, it would just be hoping someone buys it from me, or that I sue the guy who makes it. Which would be a pretty douchey move, but I gotta make a living somehow. And it would probably be the highlight of my life.
Anyway, more details on the idea. Each bag would contain an entire set of Mahjong tiles, (pre shuffled) and instructions for layouts. (sort of like Lego sets) As you play the game, whenever you remove tiles, instead of just removing them, you're welcome to eat them. You can play the alone, or take turns removing tiles with friends/family members, so that way you don't get fat.
The utter genius to this idea is that you have to buy another bag in order to play again. I'd make a killing!!
Worst case scenario, however, is if the idea has already been patented.
