finally i can make out naughty parts when there is distant frontal nudity.

but shouldn't they get cameras that can capture these high resolutions before they try to display them? seems like the cart is always before the horse when it comes to tv technology.

it just makes sense with such huge TVs, if you just make the pixels more little your eye can't see this differences anymore, at least if you sit over 2-3 meters away. I don't have place for such a big TV. But I support for shops and companies which want to present their customers/visitors some cool stuff, it might be interesting.

Screens are kinda the easiest part to make hence they arrive first. We already have 3 Megapixel sensors we just need a way to capture video off them in full resolution.

They already have cameras that go way above this TV's resolution.
For example, standard Imax is (estimated) at 12000x8700, while this TV is 7680x4320.

@Costello: Based on how we're naming the other HD formats, I'm pretty sure you'd call it 4320p. (1080p=1920x1080)
