So, to get it out of the way, I have a modded N2DS XL and as such, sending it in to Nintendo have the battery replaced is out of the question, as either A, they would refuse to service it or B, they would uninstall any mods to the console. That said, I'm itching to replace the battery, which AFAIK is the same as the one in the 3DS XL, but is not user removable. In my opinion, not making it user accessible was a dick move on their part, as batteries only have a finite charges and my XL's battery can't hold a charge for very long anymore. So, I know there are tutorials on YouTube, and the like, but is it something I should do on my own, or are there services that aren't Nintendo that can do it safely?
The only guides I've seen are places like this:
https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/New+Nintendo+2DS+XL+Battery+Replacement/98065
Which requires special type of screwdriver, a spudger tool, pliers and yeah, it's something that worries me, I've had this for well over a year and a half, and I really don't want to have to send it in like I said. What advice/suggestions do you recommend I take to properly and safely replace this battery? Thank you.
