I bought a skin for my DS Lite thinking it would oook cool and all that. I take it off coz i grew tired of it and found sticky residue stuff all over the outside of my DS Lite. Did this happen to anyone else? If so how did u get the residue stuff out?

you can buy this stuff at walmart called like "gunk be gone". something outrageous like that.

it took the adhesive off of my car that the dealer stickers left. and it didnt ruin the paint, so it should work on your dsl

Ok, after checking walmart.com and amazon,

it is called Un-Du. but on amazon, it is like $40usd.

when i got it from walmart, it was like $10usd. just check and see what they have, they should all work the same. Just read the directions and warnings to see if there are any potential problems.

standard zippo lighter fuel with be fine
get a micro fibre cloth and simpley squirt the fliud on the residue wait a second and then wipe
the petrol dissolves adhesive

plus if it gets into the seams its alcohol so it completely evaporates so no risk

it will cost maybe $2 or £1

@ skreama... Nice. I had no clue. Does it work for any kind of adhesive?

That is sooo much cheaper than name brand removers. I will have to give it a try. Thanks.

you can google it

its dissolves all adhesives that are tacky/sticky (so it wont do superclue)
i use it too get the stupid big round price/sale stickers HMV and others stores put on game/CD/DVD cases.
its great the longer its left on the quicker too clean, but not too long it justs evaporates

any kind of sticky substance

(it got a chewed fruit gum off a Plasma tv screen once!!)

Watch out that it doesn't eat your DS !!

What?

why would it eat the DS?

Some organic solvents dissolve plastic. But only some.

its not an organic solvent of that kind and why would i recommend something that would risk that kind of damage
Zippo lighter fuel is just pure alcohol hence why its used in Zippo lighters, it couldnt be that way if there was any risk it would dissolve plastic

thats quite a stupid statement to have made, what was the point

Stop embarassing yourself. Ethanol is an organic solvent.

i didnt say it wasnt an organic solvent i said it wasnt a corrosive variety

and zippo lighter fluid is not ethanol so who is embarassing themselves
The zippo lighter fluid is Naphtha which is a petroleum-based chemical, also often referred to as petroleum ether
and in this particular form is non corrosive

Ethanol is not used as lighter fuel as its grain alcohol

Retard

Whats your point, i try to offer genuine adv to someone and as per f*****g usual someone feels the need to turn it into a slanging match
i dont know why i bother

thanks for the help btw. gonna try it out as soon as i can. also, i dont think it would melt my ds as ive been reading around and it seems zippo lighter fluid can be used to get used game stickers off of n64 cartridges and game cases, and clean dvds and such so i dont see the harm

stop googling with no understanding, if it works it works but you look as bad with irrelevant quoting and contradictions.
