I use the newest wiiflow with the hack for 4.3 using Smash Bros Brawl. I also was able to figure out loading the new ios to get Black Ops working. The one thing I cant seem to ever get right is being able to use my instruments with Rock Band and/or Guitar Hero games. Any advice would be great. I have searched on this and dont seem to come to a definitive answer. Someone told me I needed to get a specific ios to enable usb 2.0 but not sure what or where to find what I need. Any advice would be great. Thank you.

You need to use a cIOS using IOS57 as the base. Waninkoko's cIOSX with base 57 appears to have a few lag issues. You should try using Hermes' cIOS, installing IOS224 with base 57.

There are more than one cIOS out there that have support for USB instruments. Just make sure that you have the correct one installed and have the game configured to use that cIOS.

It used to be that a cIOS with a base of 37 was needed for proper play (either Hermes's 222/223/224 cIOS or Waninkoko's later versions). However, I think I read that rev20 with a base IOS of 56 works as well (EDIT: could've been 57 as well)*. However, I can only speak from experience that Waninkoko's cIOS rev19, base IOS 37 works.

Final note: it may be true that if you're using uneek, all the power is redirected to the port containing the drive, which causes other USB instruments not to work*.

*in both cases: don't quote me on that, as I don't have first hand knowledge

I believe that however SDHC cards 4gb and above are not read well or at all, at least in my experience with cios which is 37 based i could have got my maths messed but I am sure this to be true last time i tried

I can't say. I don't try to load my games from SDHD card but from USB.

I know RawkSD (2.0) doesn't support SDHD, but to my knowledge, that has nothing to do with the IOS or cIOS being used.

RawkSD doesn't support succinate dehydrogenase complex subunit D cards?
Erm....

INDEED! RawkSD does NOT support any transmembrane subunits, electron transfer unites or - for that matter - any other enzymes of the inner mitochondrial membrane. If you manage to get it working on your wii nonetheless...then...erm...yeah, then I guess you're lucky, because I don't think it has very high priority to the developers.

But on a more serious note...I was of course mixing up the name of SDHC (as in the high capacity SD cards).

Latest Switch 2 leak says it will have a LCD, not OLED, run most games 40fps max, and only be 1.5 tflops handheld, 3 tflops docked. That's less than the steamdeck at 1.71 handheld, 3.1 docked.

Switch 2 LCD is about like TN type compare to old Nintendo Switch LCD before. Also games running on 40 FPS look not good for us and people. 60 FPS are best for normal everyday gaming. That's weird. I think should not buy Switch 2 because it like Switch 1.5 something like that. Little improve but not major improve. I think going to skip it.

Yea that's just rumored but not sounding that impressive for a next gen upgrade. Of course Nintendo is very good at optimization of their games to play well, but for a $400+ 2025 console I expected a little better. Even a $299 2020 Xbox Series S has 4 tflops.

I thought it was supposed to be on par with an xbox 1 in power, why is it running most things at 40fps lol
  • Anrei @ Anrei:
in terms of power I thought it was a 2.0 compared to the switch man 40fps sounds whack is there poor optimisation or something?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Just rumors/ leaks. We will find out in a few weeks. But yea prob way underpowered to save battery, for longer playtimes, like Switch 1 is.

Teraflops are not necessarily indicative of real world performance, especially when compared across different architectures. The Switch 2 will also be smaller/lighter than the Steam Deck so it's performance has to fit inside a much smaller thermal and power envelope. Using a 120hz VRR panel means 40 fps locks can be an option in handheld mode, which will be a noticeable upgrade over the current 30 fps standard on Switch 1. Games could also go uncapped and leverage VRR to keep things smooth.

Yea I think the HDR and 60fps+ have been the biggest noticeable improvements, along with faster load times/ ssd hd.
