Having just cleared Topman's stage in Megaman 3 using QuickNES on my O3DS, I can definitely say this is insanely good. My only complaint is the sound - it gets really scratchy and rough from time to time, but that's it - the game runs at 58~59FPS at all times.

So we can finally add QuickNES to the list of emus that work fullspeed on O3DS!
The audio scratching occurs if you change a setting in the menu. The scratching might not kick in right away, though.

If you change a setting, you should save state then reload your rom.

I honestly have had no real issues with zipped roms, even those compressed with 7zip using the 'ultra' setting. Don't press anything when the rom is loading though, and understand that larger roms may take some time.

It has zipped rom support. I'm using zipped roms in the FBA core and haven't had a single problem.

Not saying other people aren't having issues, but you should try it yourself first before posting about it.

Yeah, that's just my experience.

Maybe I haven't been patient enough. Sounds like unzipped roms where possible could be best way to go due to long extract times.

Remember that Retroarch has to extract the rom from the .zip to the SD card and then load it into memory before it can run it. So the bigger the rom, the longer it will take. Some of the larger GBA games take a while, and I can see CPS1/2 and NeoGeo roms taking much more time depending on the file size.

Hey, everyone. :) Been lurking for some time but finally decided to make an account here and contribute with some Retroarch feedback :) I've used Retroarch on iOS, Android, and Wii for a while now, so hopefully I can help out some! Also should mention I'm running everything on o3DS.

QuickNES:
-I've noticed that some games won't load at all (examples: Punch Out and Kirby's Adventure). I'm thinking it might be an unsupported mapper issue with QuickNES? Not sure about what mappers QuickNES itself supports, though, btw, but I wouldn't be surprised if that were the reason why some games aren't loading. edit: just tried the QuickNES core on Retroarch Wii with Punch Out and got the same results :(
-In addition, it also seems like the left/right screen edges might be cropped (Castlevania displays "layer" and "nemy" instead of "player" and "enemy", for example).

Genesis Plus GX:
-I guess it should also be mentioned that the emulator also supports SG-1000 games too! :) I've only tried Pitfall II, but SG-1000 should be running full speed or close enough (I think it went as low as 55fps) on o3DS, just like Master System and Game Gear games.
-Speaking of frame rate drops, I read earlier in the thread that some people were experiencing 50fps in some Master System games. That actually happens with some USA/Europe region Master System games in other emulators, as they default to the PAL50 frame rate for some reason (examples I've encountered include Space Harrier US version and Sonic 1 and 2). Dunno why it does that, but using Japan region versions of those games is a workaround for that issue. Japan region games will play at 60fps.
-Also, not sure if anyone else has mentioned this yet, but disabling the FM sound unit also gives a speed increase in certain games too!

I'll post anything else I find, but so far, I like how Retroarch 3DS is shaping up! :)

Still going on the 1710Hrs Build, but FBA NeoGeo: UNIBIOS!!!!!!!!!!!! :D (Still having to see which Ver it will run). But I tried running wh2 and it locked up. That is 8.60MB in Size. But wh1 worked just fine at 4.57MB.
Just tested fatfury2 (7.61MB) with UniBIOS and it ran perfectly.
Buttons are needing to be remapped big time.
Neo - 3DS
A - R
B - A
C -B
D - L

Edit: UniBIOS is 3.0

Well you can remap them yourself for the time being.

Doesnt give Core Remap Options in the Build I am using.
Also, tried running Karnovr (Fighter's History Dynamite 6.75MB): Locks up after showing Rom and Neo Geo (Trying to Load)

Could you guys help me get the Neo Geo emulator running? any zip rom I try does not start and I get this error on the bottom screen: Does not have samples for monitor refresh rate estimation. Requires to run for at least 4096 frames. Do I need a bios? does the bios need to be on a specific location? Thanks in advance!

That error appears even when the game does start correctly. That's not the problem.

BIOS should go into the rom folder.
I'll try to backport the descriptors and neogeo mapping from the newer core but next week
Once that's done you can use core input remapping

Oh wait, there should be a core option there that says controls arcade or gamepad, try fiddling with that

OK. Will go on the Latest Build (1900Hrs).
Edit: Build IDs for FBA Cores are the same, so can only Install 1 or other, or other. Not all or it will Overwrite previous Core

I don't know what the problem is. The emulator freezes after choosing the rom. I have tried 3 games and one of them is fatfury2 because I saw that one was working and still nothing. I tried deleting the .cfg file too and still.

What Version of fatfury2 are you using? has to be close to FBA Build 0.2.97.30 . I am using the latest Build Required 0.2.97.36

I'll try that build. Just tried World Heroes (set 1) - File Size: 4.6M and had the same problem :(

Yeah, my latest works fine. Just tried wh1 on the newest Build of RA. There is no Core Button Mapping Config Menu. Even in Core Options. Gives Diagnostics, Unibios and CPU Overclock
Edit: samshow.zip 7.96MB - Locks Up trying to Load

I have 1.2.2 - FBA v0.2.97.30. The bios files Ziped and Unziped in the same folders as the roms and it's still getting stuck after loading any rom with diferent sizes. I don't know what I'm doing wrong or if I missed something. I'm not familiar with neo geo emulators. I using a new 3ds on 9.0 using ninjhax 2.1 latest boot.3dsx Every other RA emulator worked fine.
