We REALLY need core specific sub-threads now; I'd normally read through a thread to find my answers, but there's over 70 new pages since I last got up to date on this thread a week ago! Let alone the previous 155 pages that I've already read that may contain the info I seek!
If you made a thread for every core that would be spammy as f**k.

Dumb question - did the ROM loading bug get fixed in one of the latest nightlies, or do emulators still crash every time you load three ROMs in the same session?

Possibly... although I don't think 22 specific threads would be 'spammy as fuck' - and I also don't think you'd need a thread for each core (the FBA cores could fall under one thread, as could the madnafen's). Plus, some of the cores require very little explanation to get up and running perfectly and probably wouldn't require their own threads at all.
But the main bottom line is that it would be shit loads more helpful than this massively bloated thread that just seems to be dealing with the same repeat issues while more specific queries are getting lost.

Most of the specific issues here are people not using the correct rom, not having the latest boot.3dsx, screwing up their config, etc.

You'd still need about 7 or so threads.

PSX
Catsfc(+)
gpSP/mGBA
fceumm(quickNES)
Gambatte
FBA
Geneis Plus GX

All of these get a number of questions. That's almost a third of the front page.

Yes, and there's more 'spam' and thread bloat being generated by dealing with those issues. This thread is fine for the general retroarch queries and status updates on the builds, but the more in depth issues related to specific emulators are getting lost or ignored within the double-figures of pages this thread creates everyday.
Massive thread does not equal helpful thread, unless the OP (you) is harvesting ALL information and adding it to the OP.

There is a FAQ. If you want something added to it all you have to do is ask.

Except you're forgetting that by focusing the topic it's a lot easier to contain the relevant information in a much smaller thread, where it's far easier to read through a handful of pages rather than hundreds, so less likely to have the same questions asked repeatedly. So, I doubt it would ever even approach a third of the front page. Nor am I suggesting that all the threads should be created at the same time, or even by the same person - just as required.

To make my point; I had a valid, core specific, query in my post a page back... has it been addressed? No. But my postscript about useful information getting lost in this two-hundred page behemoth has generated almost another whole page of off topic thread bloat.

TBH, I doubt it would work anyway. 90% of the questions in this thread can be be solved via the RetroArch wiki. But people are to lazy to do that.

This topic moves too fat for me to keep up...
I'm using the gpSP Core for pokemon games with the .3dsx, but after applying the changes teampleb mentioned I'm getting MUCH better performance out of it, Thank you!

some cps2 games will simply not work now, such as mvc.zip, even if they used to work.
I have this issue as well, a lot of CPS2 roms that worked prior and just freeze now. n3ds, using 3DSX, themehax, 10-15 nightly.

Also, while switching Audio Sync off and Audio to nearest, I hit the Audio Latency, what is the default value there? 32?
