is there a list of the vita retroarch key shortcuts? I can't figure out how to get back to the menu after launching a rom

L+R+SELECT+START should bring up the menu. It could also be set to DOWN+L+R+Y in Settings > Input > Menu Toggle Gamepad Combo.

Edit: Aaaaand ninja'd.

It's probably worth changing the hotkeys in the Input menu because I personally find the default button combination really fiddly. I personally use L+R+Down+Square.

All emulators (and in fact, every single program ever developed) has to extract the contents of a zip before it can use it. They can't be loaded as-is. Retroarch just makes this a little more explicit by labelling it as 'Open as a Folder' whereas most emulators just do it without telling the end-user.

Retroarch does have a 'bug' where it doesn't erase the extracted file if you don't exit the application properly, however.

Here's a new icon pack for the 2016-08-29 build. This has been updated with new titleIDs due to the two ZX Spectrum emulators (EightyOne and Fuse) being added, shifting most titleIDs by 2. This pack will continue to work as until a new core gets added. @SeongGino please update!

I request again, if anybody has icons for the remaining cores or better icons for the existing cores, please share them!

EDIT - Updated with new FBA icons by @hiroakihsu

sj33, do you have any news about mgba? Is there any big updates coming soon?

Yes, a fullspeed GBA emulator is lacking at the moment. VBANext and GPSP cores run about at the same speed, with standalone mGBA running a little worse. But none are close to 60fps gameplay.

It's surely my most anticipated handheld emulation.

mGBA is faster than both gpSP and VBANext, though not perfect. We're waiting for dynarec support, but it won;t be for a while.

It's still worth installing the nightlies regularly.

MGBA is it no way faster than GPSP and if you ask me MGBA has terrible vsync that drives me crazy

I don't see this being true though, VBA Next has significantly increased performance now with the threaded rendering patches and gpSP with idle loop speedhacks for specific games I think should be significantly faster, doubly so when the dynarec should work.

Its kinda like the quad Snes cores we have right now. The compatibility seems to be unique to each emulator, even though VBA Next and MGBA hold the holy grail.

Is dynarec support related to the reverse engineering of Henkaku?

No, dynarec is already fully supported by HEHkaku. It's just that nobody seems to know how to implement it in their homebrew yet.

mGBA's lack of dynarec is different - mGBA itself doesn't feature dynarec yet, it's nothing to do with the Vita side.

I rarely see people talking about the SNES emulators' performance. How are they compared to the New 3DS? I've seen a couple vids on Youtube but can't say I was very impressed, sound in particular was pretty choppy.
