Gaming Restore 3DS Firmware

Hi,
by accident I've forgot to blacklist the nintendo servers on my new router and as a result the 3DS downloaded the firmware update. now every time I power it on (and sometimes on game exit) the 3DS asks me whether to update or not.

In case I do a full restore/reset of my 3DS XL, will it restore 9.1 or will it directly update to the downloaded firmware?

Please dont post answers as "I dont know for sure" or "Try out" etc. I dont want to risk ending up on a higher firmware.

I belive you can delet downloaded updates in recovery.Turn on your 3ds while holding A+R+L+Up(DPad).

What you have now -- I don't know why some believe you must update to format, it just connects to log out from your NNID
Also, what ktomi96 repeated from my tutorial
Also, stop overreacting to update prompts that need you to press 2 different buttons (one only onscreen) to accept!!!!!

I was simply in fear, that formatting would automatically install the update.
