I know that boss extdata are the data downloaded via SpotPass. I THINK (correct me if I'm wrong) that Checkpoint DOES NOT back up boss extdata, whereas JKSM does.
What I don't know and would like to ask is: should I be backing up boss extdata? If I were to restore only extdata and savedata on a pristine 3DS (that doesnt have any boss extdata), would I risk losing progress, DLC, or similar things without boss extdata?
I have this doubt because I only backed up the savedata and extdata of my games and system apps (i.e., Miiplaza, AR Games, etc.), and I wouldn't want to find out that I've been running a risk all this time... also because if I do need to back them up, it means I have to use JKSM only, right?
I don't even know if various games ever actually used boss extdata. Thanks in advance.

PS: i know it is a repost, but i cant delete the other one, so if a mod/admin/whatever could delete it, they would be nice... and yeah, i reposted it because idk where find this info and this is the only website i knew someone has the answer. Thanks

Dump the save data for a game with Checkpoint.
Dump the save data for the same game with JKSM.
Compare the data produced by Checkpoint with the data produced by JKSM.
Then you will know whether or not they back up the same data, and you will not have to speculate anymore, or make any more threads.
